Swiffed IT was established in 2002 by Mark Murphy.
Initially it was a part time affair and concentrated on Flash web design, but over time the business turned towards IT support and the number of clients grew.
In 2010 Mark decided to leave his employment as an IT Consultant and concentrate solely on Swiffed IT. Since then the business has grown steadily with a number of local SMEs on the books, alongside dozens of home users.

Mark sorted out both computer hardware and software issues for me. He is a rare combination of excellent knowledge and a down to earth friendly approach with the added bonus of being very good value. I am delighted to have met him and would whole heartedly recommend him to any individual or organisation in need of computer related advice and support.

Mark helped me out with several IT issues that we had . Nothing was too much of an effort for him and he explained what he was doing . He was very pleasant and arrived when he said he would and his charges for the time spent were very reasonable .
It quickly became apparent that he was an IT guru and extremely knowledgeable in his field and i would happily recommend him to family and friends and no doubt use his services again.

Called in to help when the hard disk on my desktop PC failed. Having determined that the device was beyond repair (if I remember rightly, there was a problem with the disk drive as well as the disk, which continued after the disk drive was replaced), Mark somehow managed to save all the files that had been stored on the risk. He then went out of his way to help me choose a replacement machine, stopping me from buying my first choice, which he advised me was over-specified for my needs, and directing me to a machine at half the cost. He then oversaw the installation and commissioning of the new machine, including the successful reloading of all my files.

My "go to" person with any small or large problems with my laptop and tablet and he always manages to resolve issues very quickly. Recently has been involved with various upgrades needed by the charity I am involved with and this included a home visit. Mark was recommended to me by a friend and I have passed his details on with my recommendation. and everyone has been more than satisified.

Mark Murphy has looked after my computer and related IT needs for the last 15 years. He has advised on, installed, maintained and updated hardware and software on my home computer system and provided prompt assistance, remotely or otherwise, when any problems have been encountered. He has also provided advice and assistance with my tablet, mobile phone and home wi-fi. He is patient, calm and good at explaining technical issues in non-technical terms. I have every confidence in his technical ability and in his honesty, discretion and personal and professional integrity.

We are a retired couple using Microsoft pc's and two laptops for travel. We need frequent help in dealing with all the problems that seem to arise, and advice on what software and apps we should be using to survive in an increasingly complicated on-line world.
He does what can be done remotely but comes in to the house whenever it needs more, including teaching us how to use some of the software.
We have been very happy with his help without any delays whenever something urgent has arisen.

I have used Swiffed on a number of occasions and always found them to be responsive, efficient and extremely helpful.
Amongst other minor enquiries they quickly reversed an update that was affecting access to files and services, saved me from paying a ransome to restore lost files and installed Malwear protection and reversed the installation of rouge software installed during an attempted scam, all at reasonable fees.
I have no hesitation in recommending them as Trusted Traders.

Mark has been my essential support for all aspects of home tech, especially maintaining and upgrading my PC, software and broadband / WiFi over many years. His attitude, knowledge and care are outstanding and I regard myself as being privileged to be one of his one-person clients, when his abilities to maintain and manage corporate clients' systems are obvious. We are a two people small business mainly working from from home and Mark (Swiffed IT) has helped with all our IT needs for many years. When we need a new computer or lap top he advises us about what's on the market and the options that meet our needs, comes to the house to install the software and connects it all up to everything else - the lap tops, the phones, the tablet and the printer etc. He's also great in a crisis for example when the sound on my zoom doesn't work or something other major disaster, he's able fix it remotely - quietly, calmly and without fuss! He's also a lovely kind unassuming man who is remarkably patient when I contact him in a state of IT panic. I have complete faith in his ability to solve everything!

I have used Swiffed for a number of years and always received prompt and friendly service either online remotely or, when that was not possible, in person.
My most recent encounter was asking for advice on replacing my laptop then subsequently setting it up and transferring all my data. All went very smoothly and all done in a most friendly and understanding manner. Cost of work undertaken has always been very reasonable.
