I HAVE USED SPRUCE A NUMBER OF TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AND HAVE FOUND THEIR WORK OF A HIGH STANDARD AND THE WORKFORCE FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT.

Spruce Garden Services undertook a hard landscaping job in my garden. Overall it was an excellent experience that included good communication before, during and after the work was completed. The team were extremely reliable, arriving when expected, as well as very helpful and courteous. I am delighted with the quality of the finished job.

We had Spruce Garden Services out to do a winter tidy up. The guys arrived promptly and pruned our Acer tree, weeded our garden and removed all the dead leaves.
Mikey and Sean were friendly and carried out the work to a high standard.

From the quote to the completion of works, I found the whole team to be helpful and communicative. If there was delay, I was called early on to explain why and works would restart. We eventually decided on Puzzled Monkey / Spruce Gardens Services for conducting the work in our back garden. We had seen a few people for quotes, but they say you just know and we had a good feeling from the outset when meeting with Craig the owner. Fair to say the team did a fantastic job! Particular thanks to Jason and Neil, they were both hard working, informative, knowledgeable and took real pride in the work they did. Jason being the lead was an absolute pleasure to deal with and kept us updated throughout, he really knows porcelain. Willie was also great and gave another layer of assurance. I have no concerns in highly recommending them. We now have the oasis we were after and are looking forward to enjoying it, so thanks again guys.

Spruce carried out a general winter tidy up of our town garden. As always, they were punctual, very responsive and carried out an excellent job, cutting back shrubs to our specification and taking away all the garden waste.

I had 3 small trees and 12 old roses removed from my small garden 2 Salix and a Ceanothus).
Mathew and Alex (C) did a great job. They managed to remove the trees with minimal disturbance to other planting. They were very pleasant, professional and helpful. As well as the tree/rose removal they did a bit of a tidy up of the garden which was not expected. I was very pleased with work carried out.

The front garden was in need of a tidy. They pruned hedges, cut and strimmed the lawn, dug out rose bushes, hand weeded beds and gravel area.

The team arrived at 9:30am in the morning and worked well into the afternoon.

I had Spruce remove an old patio and replace it with a new one. They used some of the materials from the old patio in a different part of the garden. They also added a new area of patio. They were very efficient and friendly, even making changes to the design as the work progressed. I'm pleased with the work and would use them again for similar work.

The Spruce Gardens team have been excellent from our first contact and discussions, to the completion of the first part of our garden development. This work involved the clearance of a greenhouse, a tree, dismantling a rockery and tidying up of all areas of a garden on a very steep slope, with difficult access.

Contacted Craig at Spruce Garden Services to get a complete makeover of our back garden. Summer house removed, 25m of shadowbox fencing installed, new patios (25sqm), raised beds, decorative aggregates and making split level. Lighting by separate contractor.

After being left with a garden resembling the Somme by a previous contractor we engaged Spruce Garden Services to rip out what had already been done and then transform our garden and drive into our dream garden. The job took around 11 weeks and at various times we had between 1 and 11 guys on site. The outcome is just how we hoped it would be.

It wasn't a straightforward job but everything we asked for was accommodated. Not everything was done perfectly, what job ever is, but whenever it was not right, then it was fixed without a problem. That to me is the measure of a good company.

During the job, Sam and Willie made suggestions on how it could be improved, its the small details that make the difference between someone doing a job and someone who takes pride in their job. The Spruce Garden Services team take a pride in their job. We even got some advice on planting schemes, which were out of scope.

After the job, a Marshalls rep came to inspect their work showing that they are subject to independent oversight. I am pleased to say that Marshalls had no issues.

I am not an easy person to please but would have no hesitation in recommending Spruce Garden Services to anyone. There are too many names to mention here but our core team of Sam, Gregor and of course bossman Willie deserve a special mention. I have attached photos of the finished job.

Spruce removed tree roots and cleared a garden area. Staff checked I was satisfied at the end and were great with communication. Price was reasonable too. A laurel tree was removed - job done efficiently and well.

Firstly Craig came around to give me excellent advice on how to improve the state of my garden. Subsequently I have had a new garden post installed by the landscape team (sorry have forgotten names) and 2 separate visits from the gardening team, firstly to initially tidy up the garden, cut back shrubs and treat beds with herbicide (Euan and colleagues) and secondly to put down mulch (Matthew and colleague). All work was done as scheduled and to a very high standard and far exceeded my expectations. All the staff I spoke to were very courteous and very eager to please. All were a credit to the company.

I have already asked Craig to come back to discuss the next phase of the work, and what ongoing maintenance I would like.

Nathan and Liam came and repaired damage caused by a tree blown over in a recent storm. They removed a damaged oil tank and damaged items and restored the garden. They worked hard and efficiently and were pleasant and thoughtful a great service.

Spruce Gardening provided 2 fantastic gardeners (sorry didn't get their names) to do a 'tidy up' in my garden. They were professional, asked questions about what I wanted, then got to work and my goodness how they worked. They were on the property for around 6 hours and I dont think they stopped once. To let you know the scale of the job: my grass was so high it took them 4 goes to cut it, and they took away around 8 (or 9, or 10) huge bags filled with garden waste. I still cannot quite believe the difference they have made.
I would not say that Spruce were cheap, but the professionalism displayed, and hard work, politeness, from the gardeneners was superlative. You have to pay for quality, and that's what I got.

A skilful job done trimming and designing our large front hedge to make it both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Spruce understood our detailed requirements and executed them accurately. A first class job at a fair price.

Spruce Garden Services/Puzzled Monkey Landscaping repaired/rebuilt 18m of our wooden garden fence in March. The team carried out the work in atrocious conditions where it rained heavily every day. They did a great job and we are very pleased with the finished fence. The team were very helpful, polite and hard working. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

Tidy up of front and rear gardens. Thoroughly and efficiently carried out despite the very wet weather. Looks fantastic! Have used them in the past and will again in the future.

I had a total do-over of my small city garden by Spruce and could not be more delighted with the result. The guys were consummate professionals from initial consultation onwards; always checking in to see I was happy with detail and process. We have long dreamed of an outdoor space that is low maintenance but still high on greenery. We can't wait to spend more time in our urban oasis and can't thank the wonderful crew of designer, gardeners and landscapers enough.

I had the company out to pressure wash my front and back mono block. A lovely man called Robert arrived and he was an excellent worker, nothing was too much trouble for him, he moved all my garden pots and replaced them when he finished the pressure washing. I have used Spruce before to prune my lilac tree and they always give you excellent service.

Spruce Garden Services came and gave our front and back gardens a really good tidy up...Craig came to see the garden first and give us a quote and made some great suggestions as to what could be done. Our garden was looking very overgrown and neglected and Micky and Flynn completely transformed everything making it look so lovely and tidy! They pruned various plants, weeded loads, cut back branches, re potted a plant, cleared all the leaves and moss and did an AMAZING job. Both Flynn and Micky worked so hard all morning, they were super friendly and very knowledgeable too. Our unkempt and untidy garden is looking so clear, tidy and loved again! They took away all the garden trimmings and gave everything a really good sweep at the end. The work done was a winter tidy-up, the removal of a large tree and relocation of another one. The work was completed quickly in tricky conditions (the ground was VERY hard). Our instructions were carried out well, for the most part.

We required an end of year garden tidy up both at back and front of our house. This involved getting rid of remaining leaves, cutting back of plants and bushes, grass cutting and deck cleaning. We also had the paving stones, which form the path to our front door, reset. The men, who did the work, worked hard and conscientiously and we were very pleased with the end result. The job was completed in good time and they left no mess. I highly recommend them.

Team responded quickly to the initial response, and got a surveyor around quickly to assess what was needed to remove a whole bunch of brambles. After spending months trying to find a gardener to take on our large communal garden I found an absolutely first class gardening service. We have them on a maintenance service and also they have just completed a winter clean up. The gardeners are all so friendly, polite, professional and listen to everything that you want. They do an excellent job and are punctual and clean up after them. The office staff are so lovely too, phoning to make sure we are happy with the work. Excellent company and would recommend to anyone.

We employed Spruce Garden Services for a general garden tidy up, which included giving our hedge a much needed prune pruned back all shrubs and roses also the wisteria and honeysuckle over the arbour etc etc. They removed all the green waste and dead leaves and left our garden clean and tidy.

This is the second occasion I've used Spruce Garden Services, this time to build new borders/steps, as well as laying a new path. I'm very pleased with the work.

Having struggled to find a local gardener willing to do a one off pre-Winter tidy up, I was delighted to find Spruce Garden Services to be willing to take this on. I contacted Spruce for a quote to do an overall tidy, weed and garden clean up. They must be good as the day job took 6- 8 weeks to schedule but the date arrived soon enough.
The two gardeners who came to do the work were polite, enthusiastic and knew their stuff. Suggesting which plants and trees to keep, trim and remove.
I am more than pleased with the result and would not hesitate to recommend. Will definitely use again.

We have a large courtyard style driveway that is shared by 4 properties. It was in poor condition, pathing slabs were uneven, broken and dangerous to walk on.
The team at Puzzeled Monkey gave us a very competitive quote for the amount of work involved. This included digging out the whole area to a depth of 270mm, putting in good quality foundations, putting edgings around all flower beds and then block paving the entire area.
The whole job took 5 weeks from start to finish, the team were very hard working and nothing we asked was too much trouble. All 4 households are thrilled with the finish, we all agree that it is better than we expected. Our thanks to Craig, Willie, Alan and the team for all their hard work and an excellent finish.

We had brick work on the house adjacent to two sets of back door steps and the steps themselves which needed repairing and rebuilding after a botched landscaping job a few years ago. There were also a few other well-weathered and broken bricks at the corner under our bay window. The team from Spruce Garden Service / Puzzled Monkey were super! They were friendly and respectful, hard-working, careful and thorough - tidying everything fully at the end of each day. They even took the old steps' riser blocks/stones away for disposal. The team from Spruce did a wonderful job. We tasked them with taking up a garden of artificial grass, digging up underlay, putting down new topsoil, laying turf and rebuilding a collapsed step. Communications were excellent throughout, they took care to make sure they were getting the brief right and were lovely, cheerful and polite throughout the week. Guys worked quickly through pouring rain all morning (it was pretty torrential). They were very polite and insisted on mopping up their unavoidable footprints for us when finished. You’d never know they had been through the house with wheelbarrows full of material. First class service, thanks guys!

The chaps did an excellent job of trimming our beech hedge which had other things growing through it in many places. It's quite an extensive one and was badly in need of TLC. It's looking very tidy now.

Spruce Garden removed an old timber deck and installed a new composite deck using Millboard products. The enhanced grain golden oak deck looks lovely and is more robust and sustainable than old deck; no more oiling required and easy to clean with soap and water. Special thanks to Jason and Cameron who undertook the time consuming work of adding 60-70 ground posts under the new deck to help stabilise the structure. Highly recommended.

Sam led the build, and worked with his team tirelessly to take down and rebuild a wall. Very professional manner, keeping us informed on progress and next steps. Fabulous work by all the guys who came to take down our old large decking, clear the site including a rather tricky old tree stump, and build a new patio and gravel area. Very accommodating when asked to tweak the patio location to maximise time in sun and incorporating two posts to allow us to install a gate. Looks great and looking forward to getting on with some pots/planting (and the return of some sun for fullest enjoyment :-D!).

Clean and tidy job

Spruce have been cutting the tall beech hedge in front of our tenement flat for three years now. Before that I did it myself so I am very fussy about how the job is done. They have followed my instructions so precisely that I’m very happy with their work and no longer feel the need to cut the hedge myself.

Front and back garden tidy up. Front was very overgrown, weeding done all around the property. Very thorough and left the property tidy upon completion of work.

The Spruce Gardening team have taken excellent care of my garden so far -- they come every two weeks and always show up on time and on schedule and my garden always looks great afterwards. Someone is always available to answer the phone and they always answer my emails. Very happy with the service and would recommend.

The job was replacing uneven, crumbling concrete steps leading into our garden. Craig came and discussed our options, then left a detailed quote. We were away during most of the work, so it was a pleasure to return to find new, and safe, stone stairway just requiring pointing - and with the site left clean and tidy. A minor issue we had with the edge of one step was sorted when the pointing was completed the following Monday. We're very pleased with the quality of the work and all our interactions with Craig, the office, and the site team were pleasant and professional.

From our initial conversations with Clive on the design right through to Jason and his team doing the landscaping, we were well informed and always felt our opinions were valued and questions would be answered.

Despite some challenges with harsh weather delaying progress, Spruce did everything in their control to ensure the work would be done as quickly as possible. They were very tidy workers and respected our property which we really appreciated.

We would highly recommend Spruce and wouldn't hesitate to use them again should we need any work done in the future.

Landscaping of a portion of my garden to create raised beds & a composting facility. The service was very prompt & efficient. The work was of a high quality despite being carried out in freezing weather conditions.

Fencing replaced. The team called to say they could come early and quickly assessed that they could replace the panels and would need some minor alterations - this was all handled quickly and after the first visit the fence was in good order. The team came returned to finish the job properly - great service.

Spruce carry out our communal gardening work. We have found Spruce to be helpful, responsive and reliable.

Used Spruce Garden Services (again!) to remove four large tonne bags of old chippings from a driveway and then transport and offload at a local allotment site. The job was done by the guys (Euan, Mikey, Aaron) quickly, cheerfully and everything was cleaned up after the job too. Highly recommend!

We recently had our garden revamped by Spruce Garden Services. We had patio paving, a path, gate and fence installed and our small lawn returfed. The quality of customer service was exemplary, from our initial consultation to discuss our requirements through to completion of the work. Everyone we dealth with was professional but relaxed, answering our questions and making sure we were informed as the work progressed. Special mention should be made of Alan and Ronnie who were assigned to carry out the bulk of our work. As well as working meticulously to a high standard, they were always on hand to update us or offer advice. Their friendly demeanour and approachability was not only noted by ouselves but some of our neighbours too. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spruce Garden Services to others.

We are very pleased with the work done. Our gardens, back and front, had become very overgrown and were badly in need of a thorough tidy up before winter. The team have transformed them. They were pleasant, polite, worked very hard on a miserable day. We will certainly have them back, and have already recommended them to neighbours.

We've had Spruce do the works in our garden for the past 3 years. They are excellent, very reliable and thorough. They are not cheap, but in my view it's worth it to get a good quality job done. They also provide excellent advice on planting and landscaping. Highly recommended!

Spruce did a big pruning job for us and did a great job of it. Very polite and friendly folk as well. They can be a bit slow getting back to you when quoting but worth persevering with as the work done is great.

They did an excellent job taking out paving slabs, a rockery and bushes and then laying a lawn and creating flower beds. They were efficient, polite and personable and incredibly hard working. End results are excellent. Very happy to recommend!

The work involved clearing away ivy, brambles, cutting back tree branches and removing unwanted seedling trees.
The garden slopes away from the house at 45 degrees. There are many steps.
It took two men all day to clear the area and countless trips up and down. They worked extremely hard and consulted me whenever necessary, leaving the area much improved. A job well done.

Excellent customer service from Lucy in the office; she kept me fully informed of arrival times and managed to swap the schedule round at the last minute to accommodate. The guys did an excellent job of very neatly cutting back large hedges (and I'm quite a perfectionist), every bit as good as I've had done by well known tree surgeons, and cleaned up absolutely beautifully!

I have used Spruce on a number of occasions and have always been very happy with their work. On this occasion they replaced a dilapidated fence at the bottom of our back garden (which overlooked a neighbour's garden at a lower level) with reinforced timber beams.

The job : General tidy up of garden which had become unmanageable including removing or hard pruning shrubs, weeding and cutting back ivy.

Spruce did an excellent job in my garden. They cleared a large overgrown shrub border. The three guys that came were hard working, thorough and friendly. Robert was great at organising things and giving advice. Everything was left neat and tidy. I am delighted with the result. I will be using Spruce again and highly recommend them.

Spruce gardens trim the hedges round my house every year…..it’s a good 1 or 2 days of work but they do a great job of it…very professional and friendly service and they always make a great job of clearing up afterwards.

i used the company last year to replace my driveway and paths and to build a decking area. All the work was exemplary, and they provided excellent advice regarding the design of the drive and the decking . The team were extremely efficient and they left the site very clear after work was completed. All communication was clear and timely and they delivered exactly what we wanted.

I would recommend strongly and have recently used them again for a winter garden tidy up. This was carried out very efficiently to a high standard, and with close consultation with me throughout.
