Edinburgh Property Works is a small family run business and is the trading name of Russell & Telfer Ltd. My Father started R&T back in 1963.

Working on lots of different small projects for my wonderful private clients I enjoy attending to a variety of maintenance repairs. From Bathroom works, Furniture assembly and repair, Detailed Silicone replacement, Joinery works, Timber bed frame repairs and central spine strengthening, Luxury Vinyl Tile flooring, Bath panels, Shower screen replacement and repair assessment, Timber window repairs and Ironmongery replacement, Kitchen cabinet repairs, Draught proofing & Pipe boxing access panels to name but a few.

Okay, so Silicone replacement really needs more of a mention here. I get enquiries about Silicone repairs from leaking showers every week and we have all seen it before - silicone smeared around a bath or shower tray that looks like it was applied with an old paintbrush! Or your shower tray and screen is leaking due to defective silicone or incorrect installation and it's also black and mouldy - Yuk! I can help here and can do so much better - with good technique and careful, repeat careful, preparation. It's so not a "quick job" and the only way to achieve a good finish is to spend a lot of time removing the old silicone and silicone residue and preparing the joints, which is key for application of new, high quality bacteria resistant silicone sealant. In almost all situations it requires temporary removal of the existing shower screen to carryout the repair properly as recommended by all shower screen manufacturers installation instructions - no paintbrush needed - that's a promise! I get many enquiries about clients shower screens leaking, either due to the silicone joints or grout line joints failing, incorrect installation and position of the shower screen. The majority of shower screen leaks come from the vertical wall profiles of the showers screens and can be repaired although depending on the age of the shower screen, its sometime more cost effective to replace the screen - always happy to look at and provide feedback on your shower screen!

Most hotels have their own maintenance staff and it's always a pleasure to work alongside these guys and give support and a helping hand when their maintenance workload is maxed out. General maintenance repairs can sometimes back up and that’s where I come in. It might be a one off repair to a door lock, self closer, replacement ironmongery or it's a broken shower tray that needs replaced (carefully without demolishing the place!). Working closely with a long established Edinburgh plumbing and heating family firm, replacing shower screens and bathroom vanity units and a registered installer of "Multipanel" for shower and bathrooms, a decorative wet wall panel system manufactured by Edinburgh based Grant Westfield.

Edinburgh Property Works also carry out maintenance to city centre offices, in addition to very varied maintenance works for certain Edinburgh Museums and College property.
