All the trees in our garden were pruned and shaped. This is the second time we have used Ogilvie Hayes. These people don't just cut trees, they love their trees, and this is eminently apparent in their deep knowledge of their subject and highly sensitive approach to tree care.

We have used Ogilvie Hayes several times in the past few years for tree work in our garden, most recently in November this year.
They always respond promptly to requests, give good expert advice, are fair in their pricing, and totally reliable when it comes to carrying out the work. They are always considerate to neighbours when doing the work and scrupulous when clearing up afterwards.

After using for the past few years, I would 100% recommend this trader. They are professional in all aspects of their work, communication, passionate about their work, so friendly and they liter-ally tidy up their last leaf!
They respect the property and garden and also neighbours. I trust them so much - this year they had a cancellation so they offered to come a few days early. I was at work but 100% happy for them to do the work without me there.
Booked in for 2025 and they even send a Christmas card!

Ogilvie and Hayes have worked on several trees for us and they are due to carry out more work in the future.
Nico is very knowledgeable about trees and explained very clearly the various options available to us. The work was done very efficiently and apart from the improved appearance of the trees you would never have known that they had been, so tidy was the site left.
They are extremely pleasant to deal with and I have had no hesitation in recommending them to neighbours and friends who have needed attention to their trees.

The first time I used them I needed a tree taken away and my garden needed a good tidy up and I was so pleased with the results that I booked them the next again year.
They are real professionals when they have done the work and then cleared everything away the garden looks fabulous and I would recommend them to my friends.

2 overgrown trees removed from a small town garden.
Efficiently and carefully dealt with with no damage to telecoms cables passing through the trees' branches and remarkably little damage to the lawn and flower beds surrounding the trees despite wet and soggy conditions.
The company directors were on-site throughout, all staff were courteous and a pleasant to deal with and the site was left completely cleared and tidy.

Ogilvie and Hayes were tasked to top and trim 300 Conifers at my premises in Loanhead.
They turned up when they said they would, they explained what they were doing in detail.
Their work was excellent and they cleared the site after they had finished.

What a team:-) I cannot recommend Nico and Ailidh highly enough. 1st class service throughout, from initial visit to quote for the job, excellent communication before, during and afterwards and the massive clear up job at the end too.
Since working in our garden, I was asked by our resident's association for Nico and Ailidh's details as they were impressed with what they saw.
Thanks to them both, we now have a much more manageable garden without out of control conifers or palm trees.

Had 2 fairly large trees trimmed down and tidied up - which was long overdue. They were very professional and well organised in there knowledge and work experience in their tree work - that's for sure. It was great to watch them work as a team and completely tidy up and take the cut downs away. It was through good friends of ours that recommended them and I'm so glad we used them as well. I have used Nico and team services on 2 occasions. The most recent was cutting and reforming hedges that had been neglected since September 2023 and as such were heavily overgrown.
The team arrived with a variety of cutting tools and mobile shredder towed by their truck. The work was completed over approximately 2 1/2 hours and all debris removed.
The appearance of the cut hedges and results of the final clear-up were commendable. Nico has a friendly and approachable manner and also is a good listener.

Ailidh and Nico have carried out work on a large oak tree in our garden, taking out dead wood and making sure a heavy branch is unlikely to fall while taking care not to damage the tree. They tidy up carefully and remove all the wood and clippings. They are highly professional and very friendly and we would recommend them and certainly call on them again when needed.

What a Fabulous Team! Nico and Ailidh were so professional in every aspect. They arrived just after 7am and worked so hard all day until the job was completed. We really liked the way they priced every area and checked as they went along. They cut down some very high trees, large hedges and bushes. At each stage they checked the heights etc so we were really happy with the end result! They tidied everything and took away all the debris and left the garden and house perfect. Their staff were excellent and they worked perfectly as a Team! I have already recommended them to friends and neighbours. 10 out of 10!

I used this company in August 2022 & September 2023 to tidy up my garden by pruning or cutting back all trees,bushes and other plants as required. The result gave my garden a fine manicured look.
An estimate was agreed after helpful advice was freely given as to what needed to be done at that time and on a future occasion. Arriving on time on the day the work was carried out in a professional manner. All the cuttings were removed leaving a neat and tidy garden.

We used Ogilvie Hayes Tree and Garden Services to cut back a couple of very large trees that were over hanging our garden, then again for advice on an overgrown large bush, which wasn’t growing/thickening well. We got this cut back as advised which then helped it thicken out again making it look so much healthier.. On both occasions Nico & Ailidh were friendly, professional and arrived when they said they would. We were really pleased with the work they did as well as how tidy the garden was afterwards. We would definitely use again and recommend.

We have had our large perimeter hedge maintained by Ogilvie Hayes for more than two years. It is a tall hedge of 10 feet plus in height, consisting of mixed confers.
We have also had trees removed.
O&H have provided professional arboriculturist services, which have included giving advice regarding the ongoing health and care of our trees.
O&H provide a reliable booking system and are always punctual; they have excellent machinery and also remove garden waste to a high standard; they are extremely safety conscious and take into account the safety of pedestrians and neighbouring property. They always wear professional safety equipment.

Extensive tree surgery was performed on the first visit. An Apple tree was thinned and pruned. A silver birch that had previously been butchered by a different tree surgeon, was thinned and reshaped into a tree of beauty once again. A follow up visit has kept these trees healthy and in good shape.
They discussed in detail what work was needed and when was best to do it. So there were no surprises.
All debris was removed and the garden left spotless.
They arrived on time with all the machinery that was needed and proceeded with the minimum of disturbance. We have no hesitation in recommending them for quality work.

Trees pruned well and had beautiful blossom on them last year. The chap was neat and tidy and pleasant and knowledgeable. Easy to speak to and discuss what else needed attention in the garden. Nico and Ailidh cut back branches of a tall tree that was overhanging our garden and blocking sunlight. They did a great job and now we have much more sunlight coming into the garden. Really reasonably priced and came out to quote really quickly. I also don’t think I’ve encountered trades people so lovely and friendly as them! Ogilvie Hayes have done work in our and our neighbour’s garden on two occasions. This involved reducing and thinning tree canopies and cutting back trees and shrubs. Nico and Ailidh are friendly, approachable and reliable and communication and estimating done prior to the work was excellent. I have used Ogilvie Hayes Tree and Garden Services for the past 2 years and have them booked in for this year too. They are the most professional and friendly company. The communication is brilliant from start to finish. The standard of work is also excellent, putting cones out round their vehicles, talking to neighbours, listening to exactly what you want and they tidy every last leaf before they go. My late dad used to be so fussy about the front hedge cutting and Ogilvie Hayes cut the hedge to the same high standard. They also really value their customers and even send a Christmas card. Last spring Ogilvie Hayes reduced the height and width of our bay tree and thinned the canopy of a Japanese maple whilst this spring they pruned an apple tree. We highly recommend Ailidh and Nico. Nico is clearly very knowledgeable, explaining the options for your trees clearly and in sufficient detail to allow you to make any decisions required. They carry out the work very efficiently and very tidily and, in addition, they are very pleasant to deal with. This is the second time they have done work for us and we will certainly be asking them to do further work for us in the future.
