They did work at our house replacing a number of sandstone window sills and mullions.
I would absolutely recommend them.
Clear communication throughout. Very clear quotation with works broken down to easily understand pricing.
Workmanship is fantastic - great attention to detail and discussed the work with us daily as it progressed to ensure we were happy with it and aware of timescales.
Left the job very clean and tidy. We are delighted with the end result.
Will definitely be using again and have already recommended to a friend.

Paul provides a very professional job. He spends time ascertaining what is important to you as a customer and is open about the Costs involved. The workman sent to replace our mullion on a Victorian house were excellent, couldn't fault them. Rab loves to engage you in talking and explaining the stonemasons work. We had a few hiccups with the scaffolding but Paul smoothed things in a very professional way. Our whole street was very interested in the work and recommendations have been made.
Great job all round.

I used Newtown Stone Repairs when I had to get extensive damage to the stonework of my front windows repaired. There was a mixture of stone replacement and cosmetic repair involved. From the initial enquiry to the after care, these guys were prompt and professional. Not the cheapest on the market but it is a long term investment. The workmanship and finish are first class. There was an issue with the finish on one of the sills and they were back within the week to rectify. Will definitely use them again and would recommend. The results look fantastic and I am delighted.

Newtown Stone re-did the gable end of our old 1820's house which involved removed all the external render, removing all the concrete pointing that had been used and repointing completely in line mortar.
The work has just been completed and appears to be to a high standard - Paul was very proactive, responsive, helpful and timely with all communications.
The guys undertaking the pointing were experienced with this type of work and worked well and minimised the mess where possible. It took longer than expected but this was due to the existing dampness of the wall and the weather.
Very happy to recommend.

An old cement repair on the stone string course at the top of the front wall of our 1820s house had failed, and there was an urgent need for repair. Our neighbours had had the same problem and recommended Newtown Stone Repairs who had done a first class job. The whole team - Paul, Rab, Mo and James - were excellent to deal with, very professional, skilled and tidy. They are experienced stonemasons and take a pride in their work. Very highly recommended.

Great quality work from Rab, Davy and Mo. They kept me updated when work would start and finish. Any issues preventing them attending such as poor weather conditions was no problem. Would definitely recommend this company.

A great job done by Paul and the team. It was relatively straightforward, but the job was done to a high standard, on the timing promised and at a reasonable cost. We’ll come back to Newtown Stone as and when we need stoneworks done.

We had the “string course” of stone lying under the eaves of our house removed and replaced with new cut stone. Water damage over many years had badly eroded the old stone. It was a tricky job taking out the old stone and making sure the new stones fitted snugly and were shaped properly. Paul and his team were super efficient and took real pride in their work. They kept the mess to a minimum and swept up every evening. They carried the work out quickly and made sure the scaffolding was up for the minimum amount of time. The finished result looks great and we are happy we have got this tricky job completed by such a professional team of people.

In December 2022 and January 2023 Newtown Stone Repairs Ltd carried out stone replacement and repair work on the front facade of my building and its neighbour in Drumsheugh Gardens in the West End of Edinburgh. They provided an expert service with the work completed to a high standard in a timely and efficient manner. Paul, Rab and the team are quality professionals and I would recommend their work for any external stonework.

We had the pointing, boundary wall and garden steps on our house repaired.
Communication was excellent and they kept to the timescales they outlined. We were consulted at every stage.
After an initial small deposit, they were happy to wait for payment until we were entirely satisfied.
I would recommend them without reserve.

We used Newtown Stone Repairs to repair a heavily deteriorated stone work at the entrance of our house. The stones needed to be replaced. Paul and his team did an excellent job. (See attached photos) the whole job was done in two days with no disruption to us at all. They were very pleasant and professional. They did what they said were going to do, always turning up on time, doing their work and tidying up afterwards. I will definitely use them again and would recommend without any reservations.

We live in a 1900 semi detached house in Edinburgh. The house has a large stone bay window that had several stones that had deteriorated and were leaking or holding water. In many places the lime mortar have fallen out or needed replaced.
Newtown Stone Repair replaced several sandstone blocks and did some lithomex repairs rounds water damaged stone and repaired all the lime mortar.
The front of the house is water tight again and looks looks brilliant. Not brand new but in keeping with the age of the house.
The owner is dedicated and was happy to contact on a Sunday. Dedicated to customer service.
His two stone masons one specialising in stone preparation and the other in lithomex application and finish were outstanding. They were great on site and took great care in all they worked in.
Would use them again.

Impressed by Newtown Stone Repairs extensive work for us a year ago, and very glad they were able to return to undertake further more minor roof repairs this month. These were carefully assessed and described at every stage. Communication with the company was always good and helpful, adding to confidence in the repairs and that the roof problems have been eliminated.

After the excellent experience of using Newtown Stone Repairs Ltd for previous stone restoration work on our listed building. We were keen to use them again for further work. The recent work was to resolve a water ingress problem by partly remove damaged cement harling assess the situation and recomend remedial action. The action recommended was to rake out and repoint a brick gable. Again we are exceptionally happy with the work done . The whole process was thoroughly discussed and made simple and stress free for us. I would strongly recommend Newtown Stone Repairs to others.
