I can only commend the quality and customer care that Jonathan and his team from Newtown Renovations produced when undertaking a 18 month refurbishment works on my Backpackers Hostel .

Newtown Renovations undertook to project manage the entire refurbishment from, clearing the Building, renovating approx 66 sash and case windows, forming new toilet facilities, replacing all doors ( approx 40 ) to allow us to fit keyless locks, repairing all floors, the fitting of an “industrial style Kitchen” for the use of approx 100 guests, and paint the entire property.

Logistically, this was a very difficult job to undertake due to the location and the premises being in a Common Stair , 77 steps up !!?
Newtown where extremely accommodating and considerate during the course of the works allowing us still to be open for customers.

Can’t give anything but 5* to this team, amazing work completed on time to a very high standard. Right from the start they completed every aspect of the project on time and made me feel very confident of the work they completing. My neighbours also commented on how courteous & hard working they all were. Very happy and would defiantly recommend.

Jonathon and his Team provided an all trades service including, Joinery, Plastering, Electrical, Decorating and Installation of equipment. From the first point of contact communication was first class. A comprehensive Quote for all of the work was provided including start date and schedule. We agreed to proceed and everything went to plan. He made sure that all of my belongings in the Room were protected and all of the Team were courteous, polite and friendly. Second job by Newtown Renovations, this time lifting and relaying a damaged timber floor in the kitchen. Work carried out to a high standard without disrupting the existing kitchen fittings. Not just a sweep up after the 3 day job either, a firm of cleaners were sub-contracted to clean the kitchen and hall after work was finished.

A great job by helpful and courteous workers. Their office even contacted me after the work was finished to see how it had all gone.

Jonathon and his team provided all of the necessary trades from joinery, plumbing and electrical to decorating. From the outset Jonathon's communication and management of the project was outstanding.

A detailed quote was provided and the Newtown Renovations team delivered upon their promises which was made all the more tricky with the COVID-19 lock down and subsequent restrictions which they had to navigate and adhere to as the country came out of lock down.

I had my shed converted into an office, full decoration of my new house including electrics.

I honestly cannot recommend Newtown Renovations enough. From the minute they completed the quote I was updated daily on who would be arriving and the jobs that would be completed that day.

Everything has been completed to an exceptional standard and I couldn't be happier with all the works that were carried out.

At my family home we have had a range of services provided by this company and it's staff. In particular we have had window sash and UPC windows fitted and installed, along with general maintenance of the window mechanics. Other projects completed are general building and upkeep of our property, no job has been to big for this team of trades to complete with efficiency. I am currently looking to use Newtown Renovations for a basement conversion which I am sure will be done to a very high specification as usual.

Our windows were draft proofed and painted. Although I wasn’t personally on site due to being away from Edinburgh at the time, my daughter observed how no time was wasted in the efficiency and respect of the house environment.The results are are a much warmer home and the visual effects very pleasing both interior and exterior. Yes I would definitely recommend New Town Renovations without hesitation 100%.

Excellent communication and very professional tradespeople. Showed up when they said they would and took care to minimise mess and hassle. We are very pleased with the job.

We have used Newtown Renovations to renovate all of the sash and case windows in our Newtown flat over the last 7 years, coming back to them at the start of each project. They also reinstated a partition wall which previous owners had knocked through. Their workmanship is excellent and they always clean up remarkably well after themselves.

We also used Newtown Renovations to build a new, internal, en-suit bathroom from scratch. This was a substantial project complicated by the existing layout and plumbing in the flat. Jonathon kept us up to date on the progress of the project through out and coordinated his tradesmen to complete the project as quickly as possible. The end result was exactly what we wanted, and as always they cleaned up every time they were in.

Customer service is excellent - highly recommended.

Newtown Renovations successfully replaced our leaky Victorian 4-pane skylight, high above the upper landing, with one large double-glazed pane. We were able to discuss, watch and inspect every stage of the job, both with Jonathon Morrice of Newtown Renovations and the craftsmen doing the work. All elements were completed with excellent quality materials and great craftsmanship, and care for the surrounding fabric of the building – slaters checking that the scaffolding had not damaged further slates, for example. The subcontractors would now be our go-to firms for their individual fields. The expertise of Jonathon Morrice in coordinating this work, and the excellence in communication, made this a stress-free project (including observance of Covid rules) and we have great confidence in the result; definitely one of the best experiences we have had with builders.

We have just had Newtown Renovations back to our house for a second time. They initially replaced replaced our old windows for new sash & case (double glazed).

There service from start to finish was faultless, the staff were super friendly, extremely efficient and communicated well. Jonathan even organised for window cleaners to come after they had been painted.

The team have just left today having completed panelling in our Victorian home along with bespoke fitted wardrobes. I am delighted with the finished result.

Newtown recently did some work on our bathroom. We had discovered a long-term leak from our shower that had rotted two of the joists underneath the bathroom floor and had damaged the shower cubicle.

Jonathon and his team investigated and identified the cause of the leak, which helped us to make a successful insurance claim.

The repairs took 5 days and the joiners and plumbers who were in were very unobtrusive and caused the minimum of disruption for us while they worked. We were very happy with the quality of the work they did. They replaced the rotten joists, put in new flooring, repaired the shower cubicle and fitted a new tray and shower panelling. They showed us their progress at each stage of the work, and discussed with us our options whenever there was a choice to be made about how to proceed.

Once the job was complete Newtown provided a cleaning company to clean up after them.

We are very happy with the finished product and will be asking Jonathon for a quote later in the year to modernise the rest of our bathroom.

Renovation of a small derelict building into a modern eco friendly small residence.

The quality of work carried out was excellent. In particular, the tradesmen were extremely professional, courteous and considerate. Work was always completed on time and to a very high standard.

6 new cottage doors fitted. all work done to a high standard and tidied up all round after work completed. Great joiners and good follow up to ensure all work completed to our satisfaction.

Newtown Renovations replaced extensive rot in an elaborate Victorian lantern bay window. This involved placing a damp course above the stone lintel, replacing some 5m of sill, and patching in uprights without disturbing the fragile original glass. The workers were quick, efficient and careful, and attention to customer service by Jonathan Morrice was excellent, with careful explanations before the job started of what was involved, and good follow-up to ensure that we were happy with the end result. A nice touch was a thank you card! Whilst Newtown Renovations were certainly not the cheapest quote we had, their attention to detail and the quality of craftsmanship justified the additional price. I would certainly use again.
