Malcolm came up trumps at short notice when I was let down by another firm. The team were excellent and did a brilliant job of painting and papering. They were professional, friendly and very tidy. Will definitely use them again.

As a return customer of Malcolm Bell and his team,we once again found them to be reliable,unobtrusive,polite and friendly.The walls were meticulously prepared before papering. There was minimal mess and when the room was completed it was the best finish we have seen from any previous decorators. We will be happy to use them again.

Second time using Malcolm and his team.This time to hand paint kitchen units, and what a result!

This was to convert a very drab dark green unit kitchen, for elderly parents. Replacing kitchen, or doors was out of the question, and budget. Asked Malcolm if painting units was something he had experience of? I was relieved when he said yes! Not only units were painted, but the tiles also, bringing the kitchen back up to date with a more modern feel.

The results are incredible! The smile on my parents face is enough. The transformation for drab to clean and bright outstanding! I only wish I had taken before pictures.

Malcolm and his team are my go to decorators now. The next job is already lined up. So pleased to have found such a fantastic company, one that genuinely cares about their work.

I have no hesitation in absolutely recommending Malcolm and the team. They have just completed the exterior painting of our block of flats and just prior to Christmas, they put up insulating wall paper and decorated the interior of our flat. Both jobs have been done to an exceptionally high standard and we are more than happy with the results.
Malcolm doesn't hesitate to take into account all requests and communication is maintained through all stages of the work.

Malcolm was recommended to me by the main contractor who carried out structural work to a large first floor georgian conversion that I own. The final finish achieved - the flat was completely repainted including walls/ceilings, large sash/case windows and woodwork, original plaster cornices resprayed, cloakroom toilet wallpapered, communal areas of the building freshened up - is outstanding.

Malcolm provided great advice on paint finishes and was always approachable and contactable.

This company supplied a first class service, the two guys who did my flat, were very professional, friendly,but above all very clean workers, no loud radios,also vacuumed up each night. Would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Absolutely fantastic service from quote right through to the completion of the job. We are an independent gift shop called Bonkers, located on Hanover Street. The job required all the interior of the shop to be repainted. We were thrilled that all the paints used were eco friendly in keeping with our business ethos and also had the additional benefits of being hard wearing,able to be washed and left no smell which for a gift shop was very important. Malcolm sourced these products for us and his knowledge and experience is exceptional. Malcolm is the consummate professional keeping me completely informed of how the job was progressing on a daily basis which was very useful as I am based in St Andrews not Edinburgh. The attention to detail was meticulous and the finish is of a very high standard. Malcolm worked round our opening hours so we did not have to close - even for an hour- coming in when we were closed for the day. I can recommend Malcolm 100% and will definitely will have him back for any decorating jobs in the future.

I found Malcolm via Trusted Trader and would like to say that his team did a fantastic job on my new home. As my wife is expecting soon, Malcolm did his utmost to get a detailed competitive quote to us asap and then start the job quickly. The guys were first class throughout what was a 3 week job and were always easy to communicate on any unforeseen work that came up (such as additional tiling and plastering required) and the progress of the job. The final finish on my walls was excellent and has completely transformed what was a pretty well worn home. I will recommend Malcolm to friends and family and certainly use his service again in the future.

Malcolm and his team did a fantastic job painting and decorating my living room and study. They were flexible in working around other jobs being carried out at the same time. The finished job is of a very high standard and I have already provisionally booked the team for further decorating in the near future.

I'm sorry that it's taken me a few months to write this review but we had a very poor experience with the company. To be completely fair, Malcolm is a very nice, efficient, thorough and reliable man. But he put a young guy on our job who just didn't seem especially interested or skilled enough. We had our exterior woodwork done and, at the price quoted, I expected a good quality job. Instead we had paint rings left on our floor tiles, have paint flicked all over the sills, bits were left undone and the guy had to come back after he was finished, several of the windows are painted shut and we have rough edges and a bit of peeling on a number of the frames. Clearly, lots of other people are really happy with the level of service Malcolm's company provide so I'm guessing this was a one-off but disappointing nonetheless.

Malcolm provides a very professional service, reliable from start to finish. Beginning with a realistic but dependable estimate, there's sensitivity to the client's requirements throughout and a great result at the end !
