Matthew and his team did my kitchen recently and did an amazing job. I was up and running within 3 days and the whole job completed in 5 days.

He coordinated all the work and other trades people and was able to be flexible when incorrect kitchen parts were delivered.

I always use Matthew for work at my house and have done for years. I would also highly recommend him as well as his plumbers, electricians and plasterer.

M J Joinery recently replaced 8 fire doors for the owners association in a tenement. The estimate was competitive without being restrictive. Communication was very good throughout the process of refining details, and Matthew and his team fulfilled all the requirements for the work, including details such as door furniture and numbering and fireproofing larger letterboxes. He organized the copying and distributing of keys to residents and liaised with individual owners where necessary. A while after the work was finished, one of the doors appears to have been forced, and Matthew returned immediately to repair it for us.

Great stuff from Mathew and the team who helped with a number of jobs after moving house. Recommended.

Full flat refurb in old tenament building including new supporting beams, new walls, full rewiring and replumbing, boiler move, flooring throughout and full redecorating.
I could give these guys 7 stars out of 5. Matthew’s approach to everything constantly exceeded expectations and had fantastic attention to detail and commitment to having a happy customer. He project managed a really excellent team of every trade there is in the industry and delivered fantastic value for money. Highly recommended!

Excellent standard of work done in very good time.

MJ Joinery replaced our old kitchen worktop with a new one of our choice, addressing some flaws with the old setup in the process, and we are very pleased with the result. The joiners and plumbers worked well together and the job was finished and tidied up within the indicated timeframe, with Covid safety measures implemented.

Mehmet installed a fire door for me when I was under a lot of time pressure (needed my building completion certificate before selling my flat, which I needed to do asap and get back to be with my elderly Mum in another city).

He agreed to fit me into his very busy schedule and was great throughout. Understanding of my situation, stayed in touch, very friendly and polite (as was his colleague). They did an excellent job and did it very quickly, too!

We've used MJ Joinery before and will do again. Great service. Very reliable and very good value for money. They replaced our kitchen worktop and we've since been told by a different tradesman that it's been really well done. The joiners worked hand in hand with the plumber around the sink being taken out and then put back in. They also clean up at the end of the job. Definitely recommend MJ Joinery!

Matthew, Stuart and the rest of the team were great. Matthew was really communicative and quick to respond to my initial emails and kept me up to date when things were delayed over the second lockdown. Him and his team were really quick in installing our Wren kitchen and built a cupboard in a hallway alcove as well as helping us with some small jobs around the flat. Him and his team have really transformed our flat. When there were some snagging jobs, Stuart was quick to come round and sort them all out for us! I've already got a quote for some further work with them.

Had a full bathroom refurbishment. The quality of work was very good and a few little concerns we had were remedied without any issue. No payment was asked for till all work was completed to our satisfaction. Matthew, who co-ordinated the whole project, was very approachable and we are currently booking him to do more work.

Matthew coped very well indeed with all our requirements, especially changes that were included at the very last minute by us.

Matthew was punctual, cheerful and very helpful throughout.

Contracted MJJoinery in Summer 2020 to refit our flat’s kitchen and bathroom with work beginning in December. Matt O’Neil coordinated a brilliant team of joiners, electricians and plumbers. Service was professional throughout with a keen eye for detail and pragmatic approach to hitches and problems. Work was largely completed within the week with only minor adjustments and finishing left which was promptly done.
An excellent service - will certainly recommend them to anyone wanting a high-quality and experienced service with a slick finish.

Matthew and his team did a great job of laying engineering flooring (oak) in my flat. Great attention to detail. They even pulled out all the free-standing units in my kitchen and floored underneath there, even although I hadn't asked them to.

Matthew, himself, was very prompt in replying to emails, giving the estimate etc and was very pleasant to deal with. They came when they said they would come (i.e. reliable) and finished sooner than they anticipated.

I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of having engineered flooring fitted.

I have had a new wooden cottage front door fitted by Matthew. It needed to be made to measure to fit the opening which was not square. I have ended up with a really beautiful door which has been much admired by passers by. Delighted with service and end result.

I contacted Matt to have my bathroom renovated and he gave me a very good quote when compaired to other contractors.
He arrived on the agreed day and time and carried out the work to a very high standard.
I will definatly use Matt again and would have no problem recommending him to others.

We had a window pane replaced and a catflap removed from the window. The work required replacement of part of the window frame.

Matthew did a great job - was efficient and easy to deal with throughout as well as providing great communication beforehand. A pleasure to deal with and would fully recommend to anybody. Thanks.

Struggled with deciding to leave a review or not as I really hope I am the outlier when it comes to using MJ Joinery.
Asked Matthew to come out for a quote for 3 separate jobs (to be done one month after each other, which he didn't object to) back in July which he did and provided the quote quickly and it was all satisfactory. As it was just post lockdown I understood that Matthew would be busy catching up and I would have to wait - not a problem, got a date for 18th September to start on the first job.

The problems started the night before, when Matthew emailed me to say that he wouldn't be able to start the job as the person he was working with went AWOL. Ok, I understand things happen and other jobs need to be finished. The plasterer did come out on the Saturday (his van broke down on the Friday) but he didn't fully finish the job and I haven't see him since.

I then had to wait around 1 month for ANY communication from Matthew on when the job would be rescheduled. I was given a date of early November for the first job and then the second job would need to be near the end of November.

That was too long for me to wait and bt this time I was frustrated with the delays. I found it confusing that if my first job was originally booked in for September why the next job, which should have been pencilled in for 1 month afterwards, was scheduled for the end of November.

All in all not the greatest experience and really hope I have been the only person in this position.
The pictures of his other work does look very good and high quality, its a shame I can't provide a 5 star review like others.

Matthew took photos and ideas that I provided and produced a built-in wardrobe that we are delighted with. This included a novel type of drawers front. He listened carefully and made sure that he interpreted my ideas correctly. The work is of a high standard and we are delighted

Matthew removed and fitted 3 floor joists in our bathroom then fitted new flooring ready for tiles to be fitted. Very efficient, clean, polite, good value & v professional. Would definitely use again and recommend to anyone needing a Joiner.
