Craig was on time, professional, knowledgable and genuine at the same time. He had to spend a lot of time figuring out the fuse box - it was a bit of an antique - and some other complications. He answered all my questions and explained how things worked to the level that I could understand.
Andrew was basically always very fast at responding. Initially a bit curt (I assume they get a lot of requests for a quote without follow up), once we looked at what needed to be done etc, he was very helpful.
The only hick-up, and I’m not sure who’s fault it was, was that somehow I had not given and they had not asked for my exact address. So had I not checked my email just before he was meant to come, I would have wasted their and my time waiting.
I had to give a rating for value of money but honestly, I have no idea.

So pleased with the service from Lumen Electrical. Andrew answered all of my questions on the phone and provided an alternative plan to suit my needs.

Communication was excellent throughout. He was polite, friendly and efficient on the day - even hoovering up at the end!

We had a couple of small jobs needing to be done - replacing an extractor fan and fixing a light fitting - and had waited in vain for a response from a previous electrician we had used. We contacted Lumen Electrical Services by email and had a very prompt response, followed by a quote for the work from Andrew. A date was arranged and the electrician - Jordan - turned up promptly and did both jobs quickly and efficiently. A courtesy call from Andrew followed later that day. We were very impressed with the customer service from Lumens and would certainly use them again and recommend them to others.

Efficient friendly and helpful

Replacing stairlights. Got in touch very quickly and arranged a time for the work to be carried out. Very reliable and I know that that the job would be done satisfactorily.

Emergency repair to electric shower. Arrived within 3 hours. Very helpful and polite and work was to a very high standard.

I used this company as recommended by a member of our staff, they knew I had been looking for a good electrician locally to the area. As soon as I made contact with Lumen, they provided a quotation and carried out the work in a very professional manner. I received excellent feedback from our staff to say a really good job had been done.

Rewiring of ceiling light fitting.

We had three outside lights fitted. The whole process from enquiry to estimate to doing the work was quick and very customer focussed. Andrew discussed and recommended the options for positioning the lights, and the work was done promptly and carefully. There was a small glitch with switches but that was quickly resolved.

New hob installed. Works well and looks great. Overall very happy!

Old smoke alarm removed and new interlinked smoke alarms and heat alarm fitted. EICR carried out. A few other small queries looked at with a view to quoting for them. Prompt and helpful response to my initial enquiry.

Electrician removed my old fuse box and replaced it with consumer unit.

He was very efficient.

We had our fusebox upgraded and wiring organised, we also had lights fixtures changed and upgraded as well as new switches, sockets relocated and new sockets installed.

Standard of work was great, the workers were respectful, friendly and professional.

If I’m being picky my advise would be to improve their filling skills!

Otherwise, can’t fault them. Would definitely get them in again if we need anymore electrics done and would recommend to everyone!

Completed a number of jobs around my flat as part of renovation works including fitting new LED ceiling lights in hallway and bathroom; installing new induction hob, oven and chimney extractor hood; movement of sockets, rewiring and replacement of socket covers. Came back a number of times to complete the works. Very happy with the results.

During an emergency within our nursing home they were able to come out and assist within a short space of time. Would definitely use them again.

Exceptionally kind and prompt with the electrical work but spent +1hrs trying to fix something non electrical. If they had pointed it out to me I would have told them to leave it but instead I was stuck with quite an expensive bill for the extra time. Otherwise lovely lads.

We contracted Lumen electrical to change three lights in our flat. We supplied pictures and details of the jobs that needed carried and we agreed to an hourly rate. The electrician arrived on time, was polite and clearly willing to help. However, out of the three jobs he was only able to do one - a simple change of a ceiling light and two similar jobs could not be completed as the right equipment was not available at the time (a stairs ladder was needed for one of the lights and the other light was completely broken so needed to be ordered). Once the first light was changed in literally 10 minutes the rest of the time was spent troubleshooting, talking to the manager over the phone and then we were informed right equipment is not available and would need to come another time to complete the two additional jobs.We were quoted a price that covered 1.5 hours and indeed the electrician stayed 1.5 h in the flat. We have querried the invoice with the company and we were politely told that since the electrician spent 1.5 h hours in the flat we should pay for the whole time. They agreed to give a discount only if we were going ahead with carrying further work and replacing some things that are not broken, the additional quote being 8 times higher than the first one. My question is: if you go to the mechanic to have the car fixed, explain what needs replacing, leave it there for 1.5 hours and then take it back still broken will you be happy to pay the full price you were initially quoted for?

Friends and I have used Andrew before for small jobs around the house and found him to be reliable and honest. However, I was disappointed by his recent and significant price rise (bu hourly rate) and then by his quote of near £200 pounds for a very little job (he reckoned it could take over three hours). I subsequently got another trusted trader to undertake this for £35 - like for like - what was, in the end, a ten minute job. Sadly, it looks like this company is dragging time out to justify an hourly rate rather than doing the fair thing of pro-rating.
