Chris , from Lodge restoration, is a skilled, gifted craftsman. He restored some draughty Victorian windows in our very exposed house. We are delighted with his work which was carried out on time and on budget. We certainly notice the difference in the temperature of the rooms. He is great to work with efficient, on time and finishes all the work to the highest standard. We have recommended him to some friends too.

We were keen to repair and preseve our original sash and case windows and upgrade all the glass to Slimlite double glazing within our family home. Christopher is a skilled and knowledgeable craftsman, who was friendly, efficient and reasonably priced. All aspects of the work were handled by him (sometimes with able assistants for the heavy lifting) and his commitment to delivering a high-quality job was evident from his prolonged effort and long hours to make sure each window was perfect. Frame and window repairs, new glazing, draft proofing, new parting beads, batton rods, sash cords, weights, brassware, new mastic and painting were all expertly delivered by Christopher. He was easy to deal with, answered all our questions quickly and even refurbished one window first to ensure we would be satisfied with the results and quality of work. He was true to his quote with no hidden or surprise costs. A genuine, trustworthy and skilled tradesperson who I would highly recommend.

Chris converted a number of existing window frames from single to double glazed units, stripping back wood and repairing plus all the associated fittings. We are so pleased with the standard of his workmanship. He works very hard, is cheery, well organised, totally trustworthy and nothing is too much trouble. He will give you an honest assessment of your request. We will certainly be using Chris again to finish off other windows and thoroughly recommend him to you.

Chris repaired a rotten window sill for us on our sash and case windows. He was able to fit our job in and worked quickly, efficiently and tidied up after the work was complete. We will definitely get Chris back to do the full restoration of our windows in the near future.

Chris took on a really extensive window refurbishment job for us - eleven 200-year old sash and case windows, some of which were barely hanging on...

We'd had several quotes from other companies. A few sent out reps who were unable to answer a lot of the more technical questions. One of the things I liked about Chris is that he's the guy who does the quotes and does the work, so you get a straight answer right away. He was realistic about the scale of the job and didn't try to upsell anything.

Other companies were sceptical about being able to retain any of the original windows. Chris not only managed to retain most of our windows, he even reinstated many of the original glass panes and worked with a carpenter colleague to recreate the really unusual astragals where the originals couldn't be rescued. He really has done an absolutely first-class job. I'd highly recommend Chris to anyone. He's a true craftsman.

I am very happy with the window refurbishment that Chris did in my flat. I felt the price was reasonable as there was obviously a lot of work involved as well as some materials being required. Chris refurbished and repaired our bay window, both wood and stonework, and replaced the old glass with 'slimlite' double glazed units. Our windows now look smart and are also draught-proof and sound insulated. He gave very good advice during our consultation and would quite happily have done as good a job with single glazing if our budget had been tighter (but still cheaper than replacement double glazed windows). We were able to arrange for him to have access whilst we were away on holiday, and as it involved about 8 days' work this was less disruptive for us and worked out well. I would have no hesitation in recommending his work and would definitely use his services again.

Chris did a great job of repairing our window frames. He gave us options on what he could for us without any pressure to commit to the job. His quote was very reasonable - he even charged us less on the day as the job was more straightforward than had initially thought. I would recommend Chris and without doubt use him again.

The work involved (a) designing and building a pair of bookcases to fit into the available space, and (b) reconstituting and redecorating a toilet-area. This work was completed speedily and to a very high standard. In particular, the bookcases look extremely professional and are finished-off to a high level of detail. Similarly, the toilet area was substantially transformed from "bare walls, floor and ceiling" into a well-finished, tiled and decorative space. I was especially pleased with Chris's flexibility and his willingness to discuss the ongoing jobs. He made many useful suggestions and recommendations throughout. He is reliable, inventive, hard-working and trustworthy.

Chris did 2 jobs for us: making and fitting replacement window shutters and cutting down a piece of furniture ( a futon). In both cases he carried out the work to an exceedingly high standard, obviously taking a professional pride in every aspect of his work. He will be be our first port of call for any future work.
