Had work done by the company a few years ago and have had no problems with it. Called them again when leak in roof noticed. Came and inspected roof, wasn’t urgent but came a few weeks later and completed the job. Detailed report given of work required and a fair price quoted. Good communication throughout and very pleasant workmen. Would recommend.

Painted cast iron gutters and downpipes. Punctual, courteous, and carried out work efficiently and on schedule.

Unblocked downpipe and removed a small tree that had started to grow on another downpipe. All this was done on the morning after my phone call and at very reasonable cost. I hope to use this company for further external pipe work and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roofer.

EQB dealt expertly with a long standing leak in the roof of a Victorian Edinburgh house that had previously been missed and kept returning to spoil paint and plasterwork. In addition, the freak storm rains of August 11 had found another ingress for rainwater that damaged a ceiling. EQB diagnosed and fixed the problem here,too.
Prompt, responsive and professional, they also, reassuringly, provided photos both of the problems they identified and the repairs they carried out.

Excellent: can't recommend them highly enough: EQB put a new roof on the mansion block, where we have a top floor flat. A leaky chimney was also repaired and loose slats replaced. We had a very reasonable quote - not an estimate - and a 20 year manufacturer's guarantee. We tried for years to sort our leaky rooftop terrace. The only options found were untenable based on time, cost and the level of disruption. EQB Roofing came up with a solution that was relatively quick to install, without disruption to the business, looks much better than what we had before and comes with a 30 year guarantee, contributing to its cost-effectiveness. This was 18 months ago and we are delighted with it. Since then they have solved a number of other building issues, the latest being a leak that once investigated, exposed rotten joists that needed urgent attention with the introduction of steel supports. In little over a week from first discovering this, the work was complete. Over the last 18 months they have proved repeatedly that they are not only excellent builders and roofers, but are problem-solvers who can think outside the box. They have also backed up their ideas with work that is completed in a timely manner, fitting in with the considerable needs of our business. They are also very pleasant to deal with.

Work done: patching up and re-pointing of roof ridges.
The work ended up taking four days, which was longer than expected, though admittedly this was partly caused by bad weather. In any case, I am happy with the standard of the work and the professional manner in which it was carried out.

EQB re-roofed our 1970s bungalow. Their price was around the middle of four quotations and I consider their specification to be superior (e.g. using traditional timber sarking). Richard Davies is qualified in Project Management and he was able to discuss the job intelligently with us. His professional approach was evident in the thoughtful arrangement of skips and scaffolding to simplify the removal and replacement of tiles. Richard and his team were polite, friendly, quiet and good humoured. They worked full days without interruption whenever the weather allowed and the work was completed on schedule. Richard took personal charge throughout. He is knowledgeable in all aspects of construction and he was helpful in dealing with a redundant asbestos flue and providing ventilation through the roof for a drying room. Also, he reduced the number of holes in the new roof by installing air admittance valves instead of vent pipes. The ultimate test of the new roof will be when we experience heavy rain and strong winds but I am very optimistic that it will be as good as it looks.

Richard (of EQB) came to see my roof and very quickly assessed what had to be done, a couple of days later his estimate of works came through for my consideration. I was impressed with the thoroughness of his quote, the price quoted was very fair, less than half that of some other roofers.

Coated all the flat areas and gutters with a membrane and compound providing a water resistant surface. Also replaced a rotting garage roof.

We noticed a leak in our bathroom coming from the roof when it was raining heavily. I rang EQB as they were based nearby and a member of the team came out on the same day to check the roof. They noticed a few problems and provided a detailed quote with pictures of the damage as well as how they would recommend repairing. Arranging the repair was quick and easy, Rodielyn was very helpful, answered all of our queries swiftly and provided us with all of the necessary documents to claim back costs from neighbours in the block. Excellent service and very professional.

I had issues with a leak in the living room of my flat which was due to some damaged mortar on the roof. I spoke to EQB and Richard called me back shortly after to arrange a time to visit. We talked through the issue a bit over the phone and he came round to give me a quote a few days later. He was very straight forward, helpful, took photos of the problem areas and the quote arrived a couple of days later.

I was very wary as roofing problems can be expensive but Richard was very easy to deal with, and even gave me some good tips for the onerous task of telling the other residents in the stairwell of the incoming bill! He talked through the issues in laymens terms and kept it straight forward the whole time.

On the day I simply had to let in the workmen to the stairwell and they went into the loft to complete the work. The next day I received photos of all the areas that had been repaired.

The total cost was £410 for 1 days work which required 2 workmen with rope and harness access. This included materials.

We have used this company for several years, for general roof repairs and maintenance. They have good knowledge and can give advice regarding what needs done, and all work has always been done thoroughly and professionally.

EQB came to carry out remedial work on our roof. We had a large amount of moss and water seeping in. We have just had surveyors to assess the house in preparation for it going on sale, and they confirmed that three years after the work was completed, the attic is still completely dry.

We also used EQB more recently to fix the television aerial afte it was damaged in a gale. They were able to fix the issue within 24 hours.

We would recommend the firm to anyone else requiring roofing work.

When I needed to have the lintel above the garage door replaced I found an advert for Edinburgh Quality Builders in the Dell Directory.

I telephoned them to get an estimate. They came very promptly the next day and explained to me what needed to be done.

The written estimate came equally promptly and seemed to me to be very well set out.

The work was going to take several days as the plaster had to dry between the various stages.

The men were friendly and helpful, came on time, worked hard, cleared everything away as they finished each stage and completed the job in the time stated.

As soon as I moved into my flat I had a problem with water getting in through the roof, into my kitchen and stairwell causing a lot of damage. At least three roofing companies had come out, none could identify the problem and had no suggestions to fix it. EQB came out and were the first company I trusted. Richard explained everything fully and in simple language I could understand. The initial work they carried out was successful, however it became apparent that my neighbours were also experiencing the same issue. EQB were contacted again and carried out extensive work along all three properties, sorting the issue once and for all. They are proffesional, courteous and meticulous in their work. They do not overcharge and I was confident throughout my dealings with them that I had made the right decision in choosing them for the job. They clean up all mess after themselves and communication with them is easy. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or hire them again if more work needs done in the future.

EQB are very customer focussed . We have used the firm for both large jobs, including re-roofing a house and smaller jobs associated with roofing and guttering both personally and commercially. EQB Ltd have been used by my firm for about four years. They have also been reliable to work with and will go above and beyond what we ask if required.

They have been used for small repairs from £90 replacing down pipe section to new roofs at £55k + and have always delivered a great service.

If they do find an issue then they are prompt to let you know so you can review what needs to be done. Equally if there is an issue with their work they are quick to return to site and resolve the issue.
