The project team were extremely professional and gave outstanding customer service. The team guided by Lewis were highly skilled and very polite. They took great pride in doing a good job and kept me fully informed with regular updates and pictures during the installation.

The last time the roof looked so good was when the house was built 100+ years ago. What an amazing transformation.

Four different jobs, two roof repairs and two stopping leaks through a wall. One involved a lot of rebuilding and coordination with another company, which worked very effectively and efficiently. We have kept using Compass because problems with our old house are assessed and solved, the work is done extremely well and quickly, with minimal disruption and everyone who comes to the house works hard and is no bother to have around.

The job appraiser was very knowledgeable as expected but also took the time to educate me in elements of roof structure and repair.

He thought of alternative working procedures to bring the cost of the job down whilst still achieving a repair identical to other roofers’ proposals.

Looking at the central management of the company, the customer service provided was excellent, particularly during pandemic restrictions. I was kept well informed and a niche repair time requirement was accommodated.

We had a leaking roof due to storm damage. Compass Roofing responded to my call quickly and got roofers out to do a temporary fix very quickly, even though it was a Saturday afternoon and getting dark. Very happy with the service.

Called out for emergency repair work (Sunday evening) on a roof access hatch during high winds. Callout charge wasn't cheap but they arrived quickly and did the best patch that could be done in the situation.

Overall very happy with the service provided.

The steep roof of our pre-1830 shared tenement building was leaking and needed a number of repairs, including to cracked lead. Compass Roofing arrived quickly to give an estimate, had a professional and reassuring attitude, talked through the cost, scope and durability of different repair options, was flexible with timing (I work unsocial hours) and reliable and responsible with access. They provided good documentation and photographs. Would recommend.

Compass roofing carried out a repair of my cast iron gutters and painting of all the gutters and drainpipes. I was very impressed with the job that was carried out, the quality of the work and the pleasant manner and proffessional attitude of all the staff. It was not an easy job at all as almost everything was done on a high ladder. I would have no hesitation in using Compass again.

Compass have just finished a major roof repair on my old stone cottage and I am absolutely delighted with the result. Having never had to have any major works done before on my home I was extremely nervous about finding a reputable company. I had absolutely nothing to worry about with Compass, Scott and Gary have managed the whole process with complete professionalism and made sure I was kept fully up to date with progress. Being an old property there were inevitably some hidden surprises but everything was discussed with me in full detail and I can’t thank them enough for ensuring the repair was sympathetic to the old buildings needs. We just had half our roof replaced, we started with just changing the gutter and ended up changing nearly the whole roof. Our house is a 150 year old Georgian building and once you start you always see something more needing fixing. As the work progresses you see more and more needing done???? got to be done otherwise it would obviously cost us more in the future. We are so lucky to find a dedicated and honest company that really care about their job and their clients. Once started they were halfway way putting on the new roof and the team and Gary, the supervisor, noticed that the slate they were putting on was below standard. The team completely changed the slate standard because it will cause a problem later and not up to the acceptable standard required. Not the roofers fault they were supplied the wrong material, they didn’t know this either, see where I’m going in here, they could just left it because we wouldn’t know if it was the wrong material. This company and the whole team works really hard to give you the best service you could ask for. They work as a team and that’s very important for the best results. The roofers are very dedicated and communicative but without the supervision of Gary, always checking and always present to make sure that everything is ip to standard. Scott (the boss) take note, it’s hard to find good workers, look after them all and they will look after you. If there is ten out of ten I will give this company ten, oh and they are so tidy. Completely cleaned up after the job and the completed roof is an excellent job. ????

The roof and rainwater goods at our tenement block on Marchmont Road were in a poor state of repair culminating in some serious leaks in a number of the flats. The residents held a meeting and agreed to get quotes for work to bring the roof up to a good state of repair. In all, four Edinburgh roofing companies provided quotes based on a common specification. Compass Roofing provided the most competitive quote and were selected by us to carry out the work. All leadwork on the roof was removed and replaced with new lead and all missing tiles replaced. The rainwater goods were brought up to a good working order, replaced where necessary and repainted with three coats of paint. The Compass staff were polite and courteous and I found their foreman Gary Moir responsive, helpful and good to work with. I would recommend Compass to anyone looking for a roofer in Edinburgh.

We had a new insulated membrane roof installed together with some pointing work, guttering and a new cupola and skylight.

The work began quickly after agreeing the contract and Scott's team were polite, friendly and very happy to answer our questions as the work progressed and flexible about incorporating additional works we requested.

At one stage we were considering getting solar PV installed at the same time as the new roofing and Compass were very happy to work closely with the solar installers, though for planning reasons we didn't go ahead with that in the end.

The pricing turned out to be identical to a homer quote we got but Compass offered a guarantee and were able to do the other work like pointing and the cupola so we went with them. They took great care to protect our glass conservatory by covering it over with boards and cleaned up after themselves.

On the basis of our experience, I've no hesitation in recommending Compass if you want a single ply membrane flat roof done.

High quality professional work using top quality materials, and Scott provided a lot of help in selecting the sky lanterns and the optimum installation for them.

My neighbour and I had chimney fixed in May.The work was done by three friendly workmen Dean Jordan and Gary, who did a good job worked very efficiently and cleaned up after job was finished.

From my initial enquiry and receiving our quotation through to the final stage of works completed I found the team at Compass Roofing communicated all aspects of the process efficiently and clearly. I was impressed by the time taken to actively listen to our needs and requirements. I acted on behalf of a stair of 6 neighbours being both owners and council tenants and have lead the job from start to finish. Due to the amount of works required and the cost per household we had to be certain that we were all in agreement to use the service of Compass. This family owned and run Company have now completed two reroofing projects for us.
One, on our home, replacing an old "Rosemary" tiles and copper mansard roof with reclaimed slate, new lead work and new single ply membrane included stripping the old roof, and repairing/replacing sarking.
The second, the roof to a terraced rental property where an old slate roof roof with dormers was replaced with new slate and lead and included removal of old roof, replacement of rotten sarking and replacement of all the rainwater goods.
I believe the fact we have used them on two properties speaks for itself. All their staff are real Tradesmen and we have allways found them very pleasant and polite. Their work sites are well organised and tidy and Scott, the owner, and his son, Lewis, ensure that their high standards are maintained by giving each project the attention it deserves !

The Merchants Hall
With heavy rain pouring through the roof of our building, we called on Compass Roofing to sort the problem, although they were extremely busy with other emergency call outs they were on scene within an hour of our phone call. Within minutes the build up of water on the roof channels had gone and the leak was brought under control, this saved over a centuries old cornice ceiling from further damage and potentially a very large bill to repair.
