We had a new gate installed in our driveway. Kris was punctual, professional and polite. He gave a realistic assessment and timescale of the job, which would have a two to three month lead time. He contacted us near the installation date with an update and then proceeded to do an excellent job on installation, coming back the next day to do final adjustments. He even undercoated it for us as an apology due to a slight delay on the installation date. Would wholeheartedly recommend him and the company. Top notch!

Kris crafted a new built in wardrobe for the master bedroom. He was thoughtful and listened carefully to our requirements. He was meticulous, arrived promptly and cleared up very well. I have a 100 year old garage. The doors are massive and I wanted to try and repair them when dry rot set in. Capital joinery services came to have a look. Never has the term trusted trader been more apt. Kris is a craftsman. He worked at those doors taking out the parts that had dry rot replcing them seemlessly with new wood. If you need joinery work done Kris is the one to contact. Thoroughly recommend them. He is a great guy who does an excellent job. Cannot praise him enough. Does a first class job. My doors now look new. So glad I got in contact with them.

My flat door lock and handle needed replacing. Mr Stevenson was clear and friendly to deal with and the quality of the work is excellent. He took the time to explain what he was doing in detail which I appreciated. Will definitely use them again.

It was a very pleasant interaction from quote and booking of services to final delivery. The team fit us in really quickly, provided helpful advice and did a great job at tidying up at the end of every day and once the work was completed. Kris and his apprentice did a number of jobs for me including fitting new skirting in my tenement flat and building, and installing a bespoke box for my electrical fuses and glazed doors between my kitchen and study. They carried out the work to a very high standard.

When discussing the bespoke work, Kris listened to what I wanted and provided good advice when I asked for it. He was also easy to get hold of and responded promptly and helpfully when I needed to communicate with him, turned up when he said he was going to and cleaned up well once every job was done.

I will definitely use Kris again in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing joinery work done to a high standard and at a competitive price.

Unable to open /close main door due to swollen door frame caused by water ingress from flat above, kris fixed the door so it now can open /close easily, he quickly got the job done, I would use this skilled joiner again and highly recommend his service.

I had door serviced after it jammed on locking. Kris was very helpful, as repair proved to be more complicated than expected and involved getting new locking mechanism made to ensure repair worked properly.

Thoroughly recommend Kris, he Initially repaired the Georgian sash windows, however I was so impressed by his professional approach, skills and demeanour I had Kris fit a new bespoke kitchen and flooring within an awkwardly shaped space. Not only was he proactive but reliable a rare quality in today's society.

We had purchased a new front door and required work to fit it in an old stairwell. Uncertain of if it would fit, with a new frame also purchased beforehand, Kris from Capital Joinery Services came and advised us of what work would be done, and how to fit the new frame into the existing entrance in the best way. Excellent work and craft, the door and frame were fitted in one day, and all to the quoted price.

We had joinery work done on a window where some of the wood had rotted and we had some windows replaced with double glazed units. This was the first time that we had used Capital Joinery Services and the service and quality of work was excellent from start to finish.

Kris and his colleague restored and repainted 3 sash and case windows at our flat.
The work was completed efficiently, as scheduled and on budget. The windows were restored to a high standard with a minimum of mess. There was good communication throughout and he provided a video demonstration of how there are opened for cleaning. He has offered to review the windows in one year’s time, at no extra cost. I would be happy to use his services again.

Capital Joinery Services did an excellent job for the Edinburgh Council with the installation of a historic plaque on a wall next to the Scotland Street Tunnel. They were very efficient and the new plaque looks fantastic. Besides, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We've had a brilliant experience with Kris and Capital Joinery, easy and professional to interact with, extremely high standard of work, excellent pricing and very reliable - highly recommend! They've worked with us on refurbishing large external doors in our listed building, adding bannisters and fire doors and some other smaller jobs - and they're also great at being respectful and thoughtful when completing work while customers are in the building.

Capital Joinery fitted the most marvellous set of nine alcove shelves, from floor to ceiling, in our tenement kitchen alcove (the former coal store), and also put in wooden facings around the rough doorway. Kris designed everything with great attention to detail, explained what our options were, and he and his colleague fitted and finished everything to perfection. The shelves have been heavily in use for three months now and there has not been any problem.

Replacement of outside wooden banister and railings at front-door steps. Contacted Capital Joinery, by email, for advice and an estimate. Kris replied within 24 hrs. After initial assessment of scope of work he quoted a reasonable price for the job and on acceptance he arranged a visit to take precise measurements. The work progressed smoothly and as agreed. Initially, I'd asked for a replacement which was similar to the original and Kris accomplished that - though he made some design improvements on the original layout which will make care and maintenance much easier in future. Very satisfactory.

I have used the services of Kris Stevenson at Capital Joinery for a number of years now. Kris has carried out a number of different jobs for me , replacing rotten window sills, reinforcing a stair for a loft bed, building a wall to replace sliding doors, flooring in the loft and most recently he has fitted my kitchen and managed to fix all my squeaky floorboards !!
Kris carries out every job to a very high standard and I would not hesitate to recommend him to any friends who need a Joiner. The most impressive thing about Kris is his approach to his work and his interaction with his clients, he is patient and polite and approaches each job no matter how small with the same professionalism, even if it was putting up a few hooks.

I have used Kris of Capital Joinery for several years now. He is a perfectionist and his work is of the highest standard. I live in an old victorian house which constantly needs work done to it. Over the years Capital Joinery have fitted a new kitchen, replaced and refurbished sash and case windows, erected fencing, replaced window sills, erected shelving the list goes on. He always arrives on time and works diligently on whatever project he is doing that day. He is extremely hard working and conscientious and a very pleasant person to have about.
