With hindsight I realise I omitted some very relevant information from my review dated 1st September. The communal down pipe and ogee gutter work i mentioned started out as a suspected leaking gutter but closer inspection from a cherry picker revealed a more complicated problem and a temporary repair was completed the same day. Robin Bolton followed this up with a comprehensive letter explaining the problem as they had found it, the temporary repair they had carried out that day and the additional work required to sovle the problem, accompanied by several clear before and after photographs. It is so helpful - and so rare- to have complicated roof problems explained and illustrated in a way that is easy for everyone to understand. It makes such a difference when you can have confidence in a reliable and helpful team.

This review applies to additional work done for me personally but Bolton Roofing has carried out satisfactory work on the communal property here on a number of occasions.
Their work history includes general roof maintenance, replacing an original hatch and rebuilding a chimney stack. They recently replaced a defective outlet pipe together with the associated lead and ogee rhone work.
Personally I have always found them to be reliable and cooperative with prompt and helpful office staff.

We received excellent service from Bolton Roofing after the company we had previously paid to complete our roofing works (renew flat roof, slating and leadwork) did a terrible job and charged for work they had not done. I highly recommend Bolton Roofing and really appreciate all the help and advice they gave.

Boltons has carried out 2 large projects for me in Edinburgh.
1 at my home and another at one of my rental properties. Both of them large roofing projects.
The company’s materials and standard of workmanship are very high, while Linda in the office offers excellent administration and feedback.
I would recommend Bolton’s as a quality contractor

Overall very professional roofing contractor. Kept all appointments with me.
Explained issues with my roof in terms I could understand and made recommendations for fixing the issues. When further issues were uncovered after removing roof tiles, Robin the contractor notified me promptly and showed me firm evidence of problem with rotting timber.
In my opinion an honest trustworthy company.
Job cost as was quoted.

They have always been very pleasant to deal with, from Mr Bolton senior, through to Mr R Bolton and all the workmen.
The workmanship is done to a high standard, by workmen who work hard in all weathers (almost!).
Their quotations are very clear as to what needs done and how they will do it, and never has the final bill been more than the quotation.
I fully recommend them for any roofing work.
