Allied Trade Plumbing & Heating was established by Cameron Burt in 2002 as a sole trader and in 2014 became a limited company. We are based in Midlothian, covering Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife.
Our team of Gas engineers are fully qualified, SNIPEF and Gas Safe registered. We are proudly endorsed by Edinburgh Trusted Trader, Which and Checkatrade giving customers a view of the high standard of work we provide.

I contacted Allied through a recommendation and they were great. A cowboy tradesman left me in a mess with a renovation and Allied comprehensively sorted all the plumbing and gas work to a very high standard. Extremely good on communication and running through options before going ahead with any piece of the job. A nice bunch of guys, trustworthy and get the job done to a high standard. Would highly recommend!

We had issues with our radiators not working properly. Allied came and did an initial investigation and then set out the works required to fix the issue. Communication was clear and the tradesmen all arrived on time. Unfortunately the initial power flush and new pump didn't seem to rectify the problem. However, there was no hesitation on them coming back to do further investigation. They decided the system required a larger pump and our radiators are now working as they should. The tradesmen were all very professional and provide a high standard of work. We had used Allied several times before this and will do so again in the future.

My air source pump had a possible water flow issue. Causing both heating and hot water issues.
After a first appointment the problem was identified. A price given with a break down of this.
Arrived on the day within the time agreed. The worker kept us involved in what they were doing to sort this long standing issue out.
I consider I received a professional and friendly service. And would recommend.
And the air source heat pump system is working as it should.

Phoned and got a response the same day. And from this an appointment for a worker to visit to assess the heating system issue. The cost was clearly set out during this conversation and a back up email with details.
The worker was friendly and professional. Keeping us involved as to what he was doing to check out why the heating system is not working as it should. And at end gave us his assessment of the issue. Pleased with the service and would recommend.

I had Allied come out twice in 2 weeks for two separate issues. Both times they arrived within the specified time slot. The first issue was related to the boiler. The problem was quickly identified and a part was ordered and later fitted. The second issue was a leak to the toilet. On initial inspection the job looked to be a quick replacement of a washer but on further investigation there was a crack - the plumber had the parts on him and the job was completed. Both plumbers were polite and professional. Would recommend.

Recently had a boiler safety check and leaks under the sink repaired. Plumber (Grant) turned up on time and completed all jobs without any fuss. Receptionist (Chloe) also very helpful. Would recommend if you need a reliable plumber.

Allied Trade have just completed work on our drainage system. All members of the team (owner, engineers, office staff) were extremely helpful and professional. They liaised with Building Standards to ensure the work carried out passed all requirements, giving us peace of mind. All costs were explained up front - there were no hidden costs. Work was completed within the time frame stated to a high standard. They left the site tidy at the end of each working day. We used Allied for this job as they installed our bathroom a few years back and we were very happy with their work then, so went back to them as we knew we could trust them. Very happy! We will definitely use this company again, and recommend them to others.

Fantastic ensuite refurb by the Allied team. They were helpful & responsive, even from before the job started.
So clean and tidy while on the job, you wouldn't know they'd been there when they left each evening.

I discovered a leak at our central heating boiler which is fitted in the loft. I called Allied this morning and Cameron visited this afternoon, quickly diagnosed the fault and fitted a new washer. My sister discovered a leak at her house and Allied were first company that picked up on Trusted Trader for an emergency call out. Efficient and helpful from the outset, the engineers (Liston and Keiren) came within the first half our of the 2.5 hour window we were given and they got straight to it. They sorted the initial leak quickly and well, then checked for and found two others - which weren't immediately obvious - also fixing those efficiently and well, and in less than ideal circumstances. Friendly, efficient, and tidy professionals. Costs were very reasonable and were as indicated at the outset. Would definitely use again, and am very happy and willing to recommend.

I live in a rental and my boiler broke this morning. My landlord pays for a homecare plan but the earliest appointment I could get was Thursday 4th March despite no hot water and heating. After a recommendation I gave the company a call and Cameron was round once he’d finished his other job, and the boiler was fixed within an hour. Managed to get all the relevant paperwork too so my landlord can hopefully claim it back from the other company.

I had a leak fixed on some old communal pipework in my flat. The work was carried out very efficiently and was very impressed with their knowledge about all the old pipework and the problems involved, turning off the water in the street, contacting my neighbours about it etc. Any time I have ever phoned for help or advice they have been very quick to respond and always helpful. Brilliant receptionists as well who are also very knowledgeable!

Called Allied Trade after being told by another company (Have an expensive Homecare agreement) that we would have to wait 7 days for someone to fix our boiler (no hot water or heating) on 29 Dec. Cameron appeared within 1 hour and fixed the leak. Very efficient and tidy (brought own vacuum). Great service, would definitely recommend!

Replaced broken shower mixer bar and unblocked slow-draining shower. I really appreciate how quickly this job was set up and how helpful the team were. I received a call back within about an hour of making contact via the firm's website, a quote within a day, and the work was carried out a few days later. The plumber who attended was helpful, tidy and considerate, and took appropriate Covid precautions (mask, distancing etc). Everything was done in under an hour.

I used this company before, for the annual boiler service with a minor fault repair and some part replacement. At that time I was extremely happy with the service provided. This time it was an emergency call. I must say that the engineer ( Grant) is a star. Very kind, polite, tidy but also knowledgable and proffesional. Always explains in simple way what is being done. Absolutely brilliant. Only guy we could get out past 5pm on a Thursday evening who wasn’t extortionate. Only one other available at almost twice the price. Couldn’t believe how difficult it was to persuade someone to work! 10/10 would recommend and use again.

On both occasions they were able to check out the problem within a day of my call and all staff were professional, prompt and courteous . It was just annual boiler service but the young engineer was fantastic. Im really sorry to forget his name but the man was very kind, punctual, dedicated and knowledgeable. Explained me what he does and answered all the questions i asked. He checked everything (also inhibitor test for a small fee), showed me what was done and left the place very clean. Contact and communication with the office was also perfect from the start to the end. This company really deserves 5 star:)

The tradesmen arrived on time, as agreed, and quickly assessed the situation (we had water ingress to the space under our house). They also investigated a couple of other contributing factors and cleared a blocked downpipe.
Friendliness and professionalism were excellent, as was the service and communication from Tamara, the Office Administrator.

I had a leaking radiator repaired and new pipes installed. Also had HIVE controllers fitted to the radiators. Plumber arrived at the time given, was very polite and carried out the work quickly and efficiently. Tidied up on completion. Very happy with service received.

Had a leak in the ceiling from the upstairs bathroom. Allied Trade identified where the leak was coming from and relaced the faulty fitting in less than an hour. Their work was excellent, tidy and clean. Would definitely use them again.

Had them out to check new homes c/h system. Very efficient. Clean tidy and smart. 2nd job replacing some copper pipes. As plastic ones had been used and looked awful. Pipes perfectly straight now. Again efficient clean and did a great job. Getting whole bathroom spruced up and tiled next as we are very happy with the high level of service. Very accommodating to us adding things on as we think of/ notice more jobs to be done.

One year ago my gas central heating boiler was replaced. My boiler at the time had packed up while we were away and I returned to the house to find it was not working. Allied Trade came at very short notice on a Saturday morning and by the following Tuesday the new boiler was installed. The work was conducted in a very professional and tidy manner. I have just had the boiler serviced by Allied Trade, the work was carried out in the same professional and tidy manner. I would not hesitate in recommending Allied Trade as a company you can trust.

I had a new shower cubicle fitted the first time I used Allied Trades. Since then I have had my boiler serviced twice and an emergency call out as I couldn't top up my boiler after an extended holiday. Cameron came out himself on the Sunday and remedied the situation. Any time I need a plumber/heating engineer, I always give them a call and they are always prompt and efficient and great value for money.

We have recently moved into a new flat and found corrosion problems in the central heating system. When Cameron came to review the job we had a useful discussion and he was able to propose additional works to get the heating system into a "new condition". The work was done in two phases and on both occasions the personnel arrived within the advised period, were tidy and did the work efficiently and carefully. The job was finished within the schedule advised. When it was necessary to phone the office about the job the staff on each occasion new about the job and were able to agree planning and advise status.

Allied made some changes to the several years old installation of a condensing boiler installed by another. The flu meant water coming down my outside wall and the drain was not fitted with correct pipe nor a soak away. Allied quoted me and i thought it reasonable so proceeded. The member of staff was very patient, a good and clean worker. It took a little longer than planned, needing to get a part, but the job was completed very satisfactorily. I have used them before on another property and found them thorough, helpful and they turn up when they say they will. Charges are reasonable.

Allied were called out to give a second opinion on a boiler fault. They provided a very efficient service.Arrived on time and explained all works being checked.Although the boiler was serviced less than a fortnight ago they uncovered various faults and highlighted items that had been omitted from the so called service.

We were extremely happy with the work undertaken- new toilet and cistern unit and new radiator. We received the quote very promptly after the initial visit. The work was done soon afterwards. The engineer arrived at the time alloted. We had a small problem with the pressure the next day. They sent out the same engineer ; , he arrived exactly the time they arranged with us . He identified the problem and fixed it . He was a very pleasant young man . He tidied and cleaned up afterwards. We would certainly use Allied Trade again. .
