We are not a national Franchise company who charges high prices. We Are a local company based in the Corstorphine area of Edinburgh. Because we are mobile Locksmiths, we have next to no overheads. This means we can pass the savings onto the customer.

All our prices at Alcatraz locksmiths are fixed. We can give a customer an accurate quote over the phone by simply asking a few questions regarding what service they need. If a customer is not sure what they are talking about or they would prefer a face to face quote that is no problem too. We will go to the property and give a free quote with absolutely no obligation to use our service

We know that customers can find themselves in a stressful situation when they have a problem with their door or window locks. That is why we will always try to accommodate a customer within an hour of receiving their call, or at at time that suits then.
We realise having problems with your locks can be stressful. That's why we aim to be at all jobs within 30 minutes of receiving the call. We accept all payment methods, and all work comes with a 1 year guarantee.

I needed a broken handle replaced on a patio door. They came out on time to replace but needed to order a part which arrived the following day (it was too late in the afternoon to get that day). I was contacted when they had the part and they arrived 10 minutes later to fix it. I could not fault the service, polite, punctual and value for money. I’d recommend them and I would definitely use again.

I was recommended Danny by another trader and I was not disappointed. He confirmed the job, attended my property on time, got on with the job quickly and efficiently and to top it all off it did not cost me as much as I had expected! Brilliant!

After a burglary, called Alcatraz Locksmiths to change locks and couldn’t be happier with the service they provided. Arrived promptly, very personable, reasonably priced and offered sound advice for further protection. I would definitely recommend using them.

Came to open yale lock. Quoted 60 pounds in the phone and was there is 20 minutes. Ended up fitting a new lock at no extra cost. Very affordable and quick service.

Called Alcatraz in the morning and he attended that afternoon after going through a lot of detail and likely coatings on the phone.
After he arrived he went through all the options to solve the issue and when it was decided he worked quickly to resolve it.
And the cost was less than reasonably quoted!
Winner! Happily to recommend and will use again if needed.

This afternoon I returned to my flat to find that a visitor had adjusted the snib lock from the inside, before leaving my flat this morning, meaning that my key no longer worked in my Yale lock. Stressful since I had work to do and a Skype meeting to attend. Alcatraz Locksmiths said they could be with me within the hour, which they were. And the locksmith could not have been more considerate, kind, helpful, effective and friendly. He managed to sort the problem within 8 minutes, leaving no mess (as in scratches etc) on the paintwork, and all the while being extra cheery!! Would use Alcatraz Locksmiths again in a flash, and will recommend to all my friends too.
