We are not a national Franchise company who charges high prices. We Are a local company based in the Corstorphine area of Edinburgh. Because we are mobile Locksmiths, we have next to no overheads. This means we can pass the savings onto the customer.

All our prices at Alcatraz locksmiths are fixed. We can give a customer an accurate quote over the phone by simply asking a few questions regarding what service they need. If a customer is not sure what they are talking about or they would prefer a face to face quote that is no problem too. We will go to the property and give a free quote with absolutely no obligation to use our service
QUICK SERVICE
We know that customers can find themselves in a stressful situation when they have a problem with their door or window locks. That is why we will always try to accommodate a customer within an hour of receiving their call, or at at time that suits then.
We realise having problems with your locks can be stressful. That's why we aim to be at all jobs within 30 minutes of receiving the call. We accept all payment methods, and all work comes with a 1 year guarantee.

Tradesman arrived (quickly) when he said he would, tried to open door lock without damage, then replaced it promptly when that wasn’t possible. Also gave advice on improving window locks in future. Excellent service.

Have used this locksmith on 3 different occasions now. Has always been able to provide an appointment within a time scale that suited. Has been prompt, kept up good communication if needed. Been willing to make adaptions to fit exactly what we needed. Always cleans up after, no mess left. Always very happy with their work/service.

Locked myself out my flat and called Alcatraz. Service was prompt and communicative taking no more than 15 mins to attend having explained options over phone. Being unable to access Assa lock was a confidence booster to my security and given the choice I opted to have my lock drilled out to access property and then a new lock akin to my old one fitted very professionally and speedily with 3 new keys supplied. Service was outstanding and value for money exceptional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Danny to others.

Weekend job, turned up on time, good communication with phone, priced clearly from the start, efficient and quick, talked me through what he was doing as well, changed the lock with no problems. Arrived at property at the agreed time. All work explained and associated costs involved discussed before any work commenced. Kept informed throughout the repair to discuss the fault and what was required to fix the problem. Very quick repair. Very friendly and professional service.

I've never left a positive review about a trader before but I would wholeheartedly recommend any friend, family or insurer about Alcatraz!! They fixed my handle within 20 mins but crucially they explained the problem was my door alignment not the handle.they upgraded the handle and realigned the door in double quick time. My house had been broken into and the inside porch door was locked shut. I tried to unpick the lock and failed. It was after-hours, but I called Danny and he was over within 20 minutes. He managed to get the key out of the lock without damaging the old vintage door. It only took him 10 minutes. I'd highly recommend using this company.
