Alan Dobbies was recommended to us by a double glazing repair specialist as we had terrible condensation and mould problems with our old windows.
Brian came out and explained exactly what we needed and how the work would be completed. He then sent a very detailed quote and once we gave the go ahead came out to do a more detailed measurement of the windows.
When my old windows were removed we couldn’t believe how bad they were, the previous fitters had cut so many corners, no expanding foam, we could see daylight, water in them to name but a few.
The team got to work correctly fitting my new windows explaining things to me as they worked and answering any questions I had. They put a 12 hour shift in as there were a lot of issues with my walls being off but now finally I have the peace of mind that my new windows have been fitted professionally and with real care.
What a weight off my mind. We would have no hesitation in using Alan Dobbies again and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Brian, Ashley, Dean and all the team for all their hard work and obvious dedication to their craft. We had a large living room window and glass only in the kitchen window changed. The service was excellent from the initial quotation through to supply and fitting the windows all done on the days and times agreed. With them being a family business great care was taken in fitting and doing the work without damaging any of the inside surrounds meaning we did not have to redecorate. All work was clean and tidy with them tidying everything up leaving no mess. We would definitely use them again and recommend.

We had new front and back doors and a new window fitted.

Our existing doors were very old and in terrible condition, and the window frame was completely rotten. I think this gave them a few headaches with removal and squaring everything up, but nothing was too much trouble for the team, they worked tirelessly to get everything done in one day. They even managed to fix an idiotic decision he previous owner had made to cut a hole into the window surround to fit a blind.

Everything was left clean and tidy at the end, and the guys were incredibly polite and professional throughout out.

The firm had been recommended to us by several people locally and I'm really glad we went with them.

We have just had our back windows and door fitted. This is the second time we have used Alan Dobbie Glass and Glazing, having recently had them fit our attic bedrooms and bathroom windows. Very pleased with work. Fitters are pleasant guys, conscientious and explain what they are doing as they go. Work was over two days so some stuff had to be left over but they tidied up and moved things to make them safe from one day to next.
Happy with price which was competitive and quality of windows and door. So much so, we are asking them to return to do the front of our house!

I cannot praise this company enough for new front door. I knew exactly the style I wanted and Bryan was fantastic having everything done. The door looks great in the anthracite grey with the gold handle, letter box and chain, single satin obscure glass right down the middle.

I had 4 window and two patio door glazing units replaced today.
The quotation and acceptance process was very slick; following a enquiry through the website, details of times and dates for visits were all confirmed electronically. The measuring up process was was careful and not rushed. Having accepted the quote and paid the deposit, the installation date was confirmed. I received a courtesy text 2 days before installation reminding me of their proposed time on site.
The installation started on time, and was completed in a morning. Two slight installation snags were willingly put right on the spot (nothing major, just window seals that needed further adjustment), all stickers were removed from the glass, and the new windows and my garden were cleaned up before leaving.

Based on what I’ve seen and experienced, I’d have no hesitation in recommending this firm.

We had a front door replaced. I can honestly say they were fantastic from start to finish. Lots of choice in their brochure and lead time was great.
Instillation took about 2-3 hours and they were very professional, tidy and polite. I’d definitely recommend them and will definitely be using them in the future!
