Also a big thank you to Ewan Robertson who put up with all our doubts about Heat Pumps, and we realised we made the right choice along with underfloor insulation and giving GAS the heave ho.

Solar pv panels and battery storage installation. Installation done quickly and efficiently. All staff except Ewan were polite, responsive and helpful. The pv was mistakenly left switched off after installation, which, after initially being blamed on our electricity meter, was discovered and rectified. After installation our system kept tripping, again blamed on us, even though we followed instructions given. Eventually Ewan had this resolved but took a lot of chasing. Now fixed and working. No formal handover to go over the app and system in person. Incorrect documentation showing we'd get an energy meter, which was blamed on office staff. No explanation of 'island mode' meaning, leaving us trying to figure this out with SPEN who weren't clear either - S&P have told us they're too busy to help set this up after having eventually getting approval for this from SPEN. We decided to cancel our ASHP installation with this company after this experience, leaving us very much not trusting this trader.

The installation was carried out at a time that suited us, in a quick and efficient manner. The engineers very efficiently found a route for the cables which had far less impact on the house than the initial survey suggested.
The complexity of the installation gave some teething problems, which were resolved fairly quickly.

I was very pleased to find that my original solar supplier is still in business and able to provide an enhanced replacement inverter. From start to finish, the process was smooth and well-coordinated.

Communication with the company was excellent, keeping me informed every step of the way. On the installation day, everything was organised perfectly--components were delivered first, followed shortly by the installation team.

The installers were friendly, efficient, and professional. They completed the work neatly and tidily, ensuring everything was installed to a high standard. Before leaving, they took the time to familiarise me with the new equipment, which was greatly appreciated.

Overall, a seamless and professional service--I highly recommend them!

S&P installed a solar panel array and battery storage system for me. All aspects of their work and approach was first class, well executed, and highly professional - the initial contact, the site visit to assess requirements and technical options, the written proposal and costings, the installation of the equipment, the commissioning of the system, and the office administration. They were both tolerant of, and flexible to some installation constraints which I imposed. The installation of equipment both externally and internally was carried out efficiently and to a high standard. I would certainly employ this company again.

After an initial contact with S&P renewables about solar, I was invited into the office to chat things through with Ewan. Very considerate to internal and external areas, and always happy to explain what they were doing and what their schedule was. Also happy to look for solutions to cabling runs that were acceptable to me, rather than simply progressing what might be easiest to them. Also happy to confirm as-left status in respect to closures, insulation etc.
FOLLOW UP: A document pack delivered quickly, that was complete and has each document numbered for easy identification and assurance.

Installation of a residential PV system with storage on and in a detached garage. All completed within 3 months from initial contact. There was considerable discussion initially around the principal involved and on the detail of scale and design. The work itself was done in a day and included a welcome improvement in the panel layout identified on site by the very organised and efficient installation team. Always preferring to use local service suppliers if possible, S & P have been the right choice for this job as they have been readily contactable throughout and everything has been much more personalised than proposals that were obtained from others.

Full new heating system, solar panels, heat pump, boiler, inverter and radiators. This was done through a government grant scheme so they were the nominated contractor. Work was all done as planned ie time scales. There was a few teething problems but full credut to the company, all problems were sorted as quickly as possible and full system is working as promised. All staff were polite and knew exactly what they were doing. Would certainly ask this company to do any further work that may be needed.

I have just had Solar PV panels, Storage Batteries and Inverter installed by S&P Renewables and I'm very happy with the installation, from my initial contact right through to commissioning of my system. My two installers and electrician could not have been more helpful asking at each stage of the install if I was happy with the work so far?
I carried out some of the civils work for them so as to make things easier and to save some time and in turn have as little disruption to my normal day to day life although to be honest there was very little disruption.

S&P installed Solar Panel PV System with battery back up at the village hall. Excellent job which will assist in reducing the hall's energy bill. Great advice and service from Euan and the team. Can highly recommend.

The task was to install 18 PV panels, a 3-phase inverter & 10kWh of battery storage at St Boswells Village Hall, which is a Victorian-era building situated within a conservation area. Safe & Protect was selected on the basis of (i) price; and (ii) track record. The Welsh slate roof needed to be refurbished beforehand so S&P arranged for a scaffold and then coordinated with the roofer to have the PV panel support brackets fitted at the same time. The project was funded by grants and they showed heroic levels of patience whilst we waited for the money to come through. Once the S&P team arrived on site the work was completed quickly and efficiently, and the system performance so far has been at least as good as the original estimate - which translates into very important cash savings for the charity that operates the hall. The S&P team is very busy so contacting them can sometimes take a little longer than would be ideal - but that is a trivial observation and well worth putting up with in exchange for their excellent service. Would I use S&P again? You bet I would!

We have had a battery pack installed as well as additional PV panels being added to our 10 year old system. The system is set up to store excess electricity produced by the PV panels in the battery as well as to sell any excess remaining back to the grid. The system also enables us to charge up the battery via the grid at 'off-peak' times when the price of electricity is very cheap. The 'world' of battery storage and linking this to an existing PV system was all new to us. It has taken us quite a bit to 'get our head round' everything. Ewan and his team have done a very good job advising us on the options that were available and explaining the benefits/pitfalls of each. The installation and commissioning process was undertaken extremely efficiently, quickly and with minimal disturbance by Ewan and his colleagues. The 'guys' who did the work in and on our house were thoughtful and helpful at all times.

The work was of a very high standard, from the beginning they listened to our questions and supplied 3 quotes and on the day of installation the men fitting the solar panels and frame were quick and efficient. The battery system plus inverter installation was carried out with great care and precision and very cleanly.

Beforehand, they gave us a clear breakdown of how the system would work, the amount of energy it was likely to produce, and the advantages and disadvantages of different set ups. And of cost.

We accepted their quote, and received a call a couple of weeks later to arrange installation date, a few days later. The team arrived as we had been told , and were friendly and efficient. The work is all tidy, and our panels are churning out energy ( sunny week in November). We had a couple of questions related to the app, and received an answer straight away.

We have used S&P Renewables twice now to install and then add more PV Solar Panels and Battery Storage and I could not recommend them highly enough. They were quick, good value, efficient, professional and their engineers were always on time, very knowledgeable and nothing was ever a problem. Excellent.
We have a really good solar, storage and EV charging setup here now - and, calculated back over the past full year, taking advantage of really low off-peak rates, the Feed in Tariff (on the old system) payments received quarterly, and the efficiencies of the system, we have almost no energy costs for the house or charge costs for the car.
Before getting the the solar panels, the battery storage and the EV, we were paying about £1200 per year for electricity and gas combined, and were buying petrol at between £200-£250 per month / £2400 - £3000 per year - but these days are more or less gone now!
Yes, we do need to manage our energy usage carefully and efficiently, changing our approach when there is less sunshine, especially over the winter - but we should all do this anyway, regardless.
Yes, there is an investment involved (we are very happy with a payback period) but the best thing we ever did was getting in touch with S&P Renewable for honest advice and guidance and trusting them to help us future proof our home.

Ewan was very helpful in the design of the system taking cognisance of our requirements to allow for potential future ev use and the staff were very polite and efficient with dealing with questions in the lead up to the installation.
The installation was undertaken very timeously and workmanship very neatly done. It was quite a large domestic installation and area for batteries was quite tight. The array layout had to be altered slightly due to roof shape and desired clearances.
Products offered and installed were similar to those advised by competitors hence value for money rating.
My ratings for product quality and reliability reflect that this is a new system, if the products match their literature claims then everything would be aok.

S&P advised us about and rectified the serious problems with an utterly incompetent solar panel installation carried out by another, criminally negligent, company. S&P's staff were unfailingly helpful, professional and knowledgeable. They rewired the system correctly and efficently and also installed batteries. We could not be happier with the results. The only regret we have is that we did not engage them to do everything in the first place.

Put in second solar array last November. As had a good experience with them putting in the 1st array, happy to give S and P our business again.

Bit of delay getting parts for the array but once arrived, very quick to install. The installers have a wonderful ‘can do’ attitude as not so easy to fit in a highly insulated house with thick walls but managed in a few hours and no mess at all. Very friendly and accommodating.

Our system has 10kw of battery and would recommend this. We are an all electric house with an electric car. We have gone from using around 13,000 units of electricity a year to about 6,000. From May to September we managed to charge the electric car and run the house on less than 100 units per month as the inverter installed allows us to see in real time how much electricity was being generated. With the the batteries this allows us to make better use of generated energy so very little goes back to grid.

S&P Renewables were excellent, quote issued very promptly, work carried out in line with the quote. All tradesmen came at arranged time and were very professional.

I first used Safe and Protect late 2010/11 when Euan contacted me with advice on installation of CCTV Camera at the property at a time when I was looking after my elderly father with carers regularly visiting to attend his disability of near sight loss . A prompt and efficient facility was installed. He then advised on the opportunity to have Solar Panels on the property to reduce electricity costs. It was important to keep the property warm for my elderly father and my wife and I as I have long termT1D Diabetes disability and have experienced complication issues. It seemed a good idea to receive an ongoing payment from the energy supplier towards the rising cost of heating and lighting. The installation was completed promptly and has been very successful. We had an updated Integrator installed a few years ago by Safe and Protect and again prompt end efficient workmanship. The workers were always tidy, smartly safely dressed for the type of work, and always tidied up after completion. Any minor issues have been promptly attended to usually by telephone. The Battery update is being completed as I write this and all seems good.
I have no hesitation in recommending Safe and Protect as a trusted and efficient trading company with expert knowledge of the good work they perform.
