After seeing the excellent work John carried out for my mum and dad with their garden wall and hearing how reliable, trustworthy and reasonable he was I contacted John to carry out some work for me. I moved my boiler and this left holes on the outer wall of my house. John turned up when he said he would and completed the job very quickly and to a very high standard. Would definitely use again for any work required in the future. Highly recommended

We were looking for a bricklayer to build our garden wall. I looked on here and found John (Whelan Builders) and I’m so glad I did. From the initial visit to the completion of the job John was fantastic! Very high quality of workmanship. Was here on time when he said he would and was very clean and tidy. A bonus that he’s a top guy as well! Would have no hesitation on recommending him to anyone looking for any building work to be carried out. Five stars not enough!

We had this building company in to repair bricks at the corner of our house which were showing signs of wear due to weather exposure.
The service was great. They turned up when promised and worked solidly to repair the area. They even managed to source bricks which are similar if not an exact match so the repair is barely noticeable.
We feel we have had great value for money and excellent service and would definitely recommend the company to others.

John carried out repairs to old stone wall at front of house. Very pleased with his excellent standard of work, nearly a week since work completed I have lost count of the people stopping to admire and compliment on the wall. All rubbish taken away area left clean and tidy. Highly recommend Whelan Builders and look forward to having John back in the future to transform the rest of our walls !

John has been a real ‘find’. He repaired the crumbling tiles from the top level of our external stairs and ground down the core of the stairs to accommodate and fit beautiful ceramic slabs. He did what other builders said couldn’t be done. The standard of his work was excellent and he maintained dialogue with us as the work progressed. He clearly believes in keeping in touch with his clients (a rare breed) and his costings represent great value for money. He is a very friendly and reliable man and, on this experience, I would recommend Whelan Builders without hesitation. He will be our ‘go to’ man for future work on our house.

I am very happy with the quality of the finish. Whelan Builders provided a cost quote that outlined clearly the timescale, materials and labour required to repair and rebuild my driveway wall.
John kept me updated with progress, start times and disruptions to progress when the weather changed.

I invited Whelan Builders to provide a quote to build a low retaining garden wall. John responded quickly and subsequently provided a quote which I found acceptable. He started the job when he said he would and completed within the timeframe agreed. John’s work was excellent and I am more than satisfied with the finished look (before and after pictures attached). I would be more than happy to use his services again and/or recommend him to neighbours and friends.

John demolished/removed a brick outhouse and a garden wall and re built a new garden wall as agreed.
He arrived on site early every day until the work was completed.
He was very professional and friendly and his attention to detail was second to none.
All debris was removed and the site was left clean.
I would have no hesitation recommending Whelan Builders to anyone.
