Highland Trusted Trader

The Highland Trusted Trader scheme is in a pre public launch status while we process potential applicants wishing to join the scheme. Once we have enough members covering the normal home improvement trades sector, Highland Council will be actively promoting the scheme to Highland residents and consumers.

For now, if you are a local business that would like to be showcased to Highland residents, or you are aware of a small business who you think would benefit from Trusted Trader membership and have a minimum of six months clean trading history, then please visit our online application form and take advantage of an early member discount.

The Highland Trusted Trader scheme is a local business partnership scheme aimed at increasing consumer confidence, promoting good practice within local business, and helping protect citizens from doorstep crime.

Highland Trusted Trader scheme is a joint Highland Council and Highland Trading Standards Services initiative to provide a list of local and reputable vetted businesses.

The scheme is supported by Police Scotland and consumeradvice.scot (a part of Advice Direct Scotland).

All Highland Trusted Traders have agreed to trade fairly and sign-up to a Code of Practice.
The Code covers:
  • transparent procedures for quoting and carrying out work
  • only charging a fair and reasonable price
  • dealing with complaints promptly
You can search for Highland Trusted Traders on this website as well as view feedback and comments left by previous customers.

If you would like to become a Highland Trusted Trader and have a minimum of six months trading clean history, then fill in the online application form.

Help support the scheme by reviewing any Highland Trusted Traders you have used.
