u PVC door handle was not working correctly. I phoned and spoke to Sandy who was very helpful. He gave me advice on how to repair the handle and had the correct parts in stock. I collected the parts and successfully carried out the repair. Great service and I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Great service from Thistle locks. Had a problem with our front uPVC door lock. The company called ahead to arrange a time to investigate and we then had a visit from David who managed to replace the lock and provide additional keys. A closed door with a broken lock was the problem. I phoned on Thursday afternoon. Sandy arrived at the specified time on that day and assessed the job, giving an estimate. He then arrived again at the specified time the following day (Friday). He freed the shut locked door, replaced the broken mechanism to my satisfaction.
Sandy was very professional, explained what was to be done and carried out the work very well. I am really pleased at the speed of the repair and the cost.

Sandy repaired an original door lever system on our old house.
I also purchased solid brass furniture in keeping with the original door. Fabulous to get these items locally instead of trawling the internet and not sure what will arrive!!
I was delighted with the results and will use Thistle locks every time.

The main lock on our front door failed, due to age, at the very end of the day. We managed to get the door locked (just) but needed to get the broken unit replaced. Sandy was able to come and look at the lock the next day and had enough spare parts to get us working again straight away. He returned a week later with all the proper replacement parts and we are very happy to have a door that works and locks properly again (it is obvious it had been failing for some time now that the new parts are in place). Sandy maintained social distance (due to COVID19), was on site exactly when he said he would be and completed the work to a high standard. I have no problem recommending him to other people with any lock problems.

Sandy responded to my query immediately on the phone and was round later that morning exactly when he said he would be.

I needed a lock replaced on a uPVC patio door as I had lost the only key and Sandy promptly got on with the job. It soon became clear that the job was not as straight-forward as hoped but rather than moan or admit defeat, Sandy found ways of getting a solution and in no time had completed the task brilliantly with no impact or damage to the existing door.

I've had other locksmiths look at this task and decline it due to not having the expertise to do it or not wanting to take on a job which was slightly out of the ordinary.

Broke the lock on my front door, couldn't get out, have an elderly relative in the house so we had to get it fixed. Couldn't get in touch with the original installer so was in a bit of a panic. He came to the house and had the lock mechanism replaced and door adjusted in quick time, he was quick and kept to all the PPE and distancing requirements. Absolute saviour. Would highly recommend. Managed to lock myself out, looked for a local locksmith and found Thistle Locks and Alarms.
After a short wait and about 20-30 minutes work I was back in the house.
