I had a motorcycle topbox that I couldn't open.
Thistle locks opened it for me no problem.
I also had a couple of things pointed out to me about locks that have come in very handy.
The locksmith is very friendly, and willing to help.
I have used this shop a few times now.

I had some deadlocks fitted to my works van and Sandy at Thistle Locks did a great job. Very neat and tidy and Sandy also recommended which locks were best.

Locks changed on two external doors. Arrived on time. Friendly and helpful advice provided. Job completed without any problems. Will definitely use again.

I snapped our only remaining key in the bonnet of one of our work vans. Sandy came to the rescue and managed to create another key. Its hard to find a Locksmith that cuts van keys these day's without charging a fortune and Thistle Locksmiths managed to sort this at a very reasonable price! They also cut spare keys for cars, boats motorbikes and all sorts of other things. Thanks again Sandy for sorting this out!

Had used Thistle Locks before due to an issue with my back door.
I managed though this time to snap the key off in my front door and somehow managed to have it locked but in the open position. Phoned Thistle locks at 1540 (20mins before closing) and they were there in 20 mins.

I needed all the locks in the house changed and arranged a date in advance for attendance. Sandy came on the day agreed, did the work quickly and cleanly. Thistle locksmith came out to us to check a lock which had been acting up . It was thoroughly checked over and was working again appropriately. Locksmith explained hot weather was likely to be cause. He wouldn’t take any money as a call out charge. He was prompt, pleasant and efficient and we were very pleased with this service. We would definitely recommend this company as most reliable and fair.

I was having problems with an outside door. Phoned on Tuesday and they came on Wednesday, arrived when they said they would.

Door was fixed in around an hour, I thought it was the lock but it was actually the door that needed realigned.

Really professional and polite and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or use again.

u PVC door handle was not working correctly. I phoned and spoke to Sandy who was very helpful. He gave me advice on how to repair the handle and had the correct parts in stock. I collected the parts and successfully carried out the repair. Great service and I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

The company called ahead to arrange a time to investigate and we then had a visit from David who managed to replace the lock and provide additional keys. A closed door with a broken lock was the problem. I phoned on Thursday afternoon. Sandy arrived at the specified time on that day and assessed the job, giving an estimate. He then arrived again at the specified time the following day (Friday). He freed the shut locked door, replaced the broken mechanism to my satisfaction.

Sandy repaired an original door lever system on our old house.
I also purchased solid brass furniture in keeping with the original door. Fabulous to get these items locally instead of trawling the internet and not sure what will arrive!!
I was delighted with the results and will use Thistle locks every time.

The main lock on our front door failed, due to age, at the very end of the day. We managed to get the door locked (just) but needed to get the broken unit replaced. Sandy was able to come and look at the lock the next day and had enough spare parts to get us working again straight away. He returned a week later with all the proper replacement parts and we are very happy to have a door that works and locks properly again (it is obvious it had been failing for some time now that the new parts are in place). Sandy maintained social distance (due to COVID19), was on site exactly when he said he would be and completed the work to a high standard. I have no problem recommending him to other people with any lock problems.

Sandy responded to my query immediately on the phone and was round later that morning exactly when he said he would be.

I needed a lock replaced on a uPVC patio door as I had lost the only key and Sandy promptly got on with the job. It soon became clear that the job was not as straight-forward as hoped but rather than moan or admit defeat, Sandy found ways of getting a solution and in no time had completed the task brilliantly with no impact or damage to the existing door.

I've had other locksmiths look at this task and decline it due to not having the expertise to do it or not wanting to take on a job which was slightly out of the ordinary.

Broke the lock on my front door, couldn't get out, have an elderly relative in the house so we had to get it fixed. Couldn't get in touch with the original installer so was in a bit of a panic.
