Very professionally run company. Initial quote's were detailed yet very easy to understand and questions promptly answered. Jackie kept us up to date on plan prior to the job starting and kept us informed on progress after it started. (She was also very helpful when we were struggling to decide on colour of stone for rendering). Once the job started the guys were professional but also friendly and kept us up to date with the plan for each day. They also highlighted any concerns they had and how they planned to resolve them. Always cleaned up at the end of each day. No corners cut and the work completed to a high standard. Would have no hesitation in using them again.

We had a large flat roof renewed. The work was carried out in a very professional way and the workmen worked non stop. They took photos at every stage so we could be kept up to date with what they were doing. The workmen were extremely tidy, removed all rubbish and left the place very clean. We had a fair bit of water ingress at exposed gable end of cottage and Ian’s team gave us a very competitive quote to remedy. They were really good at keeping in touch with us and were professional and very competent. They also picked up on some additional work that needed done and carried this out too. We’re very happy with the standard of workmanship and would not hesitate to use them again!

It took a while to get a quote but once that was done and we agreed to the terms, Ian's team came when they said they would, got the work done well and efficiently, were cordial and competent.

A leaking chimney on an old house was repaired and some additional work carried out on the roof. The trader was efficient in keeping us informed about when the work could be started. The work was expertly done by friendly tradesmen.

1 Arranging the initial appointment to survey the works to be undertaken was straightforward and the meeting was punctual and extremely professional.
2 The quote was forwarded on time and was detailed, describing all works to be undertaken clearly.
3 All subsequent communication was timely and informative. All office staff involved were polite and friendly. All aspects of the job, costs and timeframe were clear throughout.
4 The trades staff involved were friendly and extremely efficient. Work was undertaken on schedule and completed to a high standard. Over the three days spent on the job all those involved liaised closely to ensure it was done as efficiently as possible and care was taken to ensure all mess was tidied up on completion.

After failing to get any positive response from my usual roofer for almost a year I contacted Ian Barrett. I was very pleased with the initial meeting with Ian and was duly presented with a quote for the work which I accepted. I had a few leaks from the dormer roof area that required replacement of corroded galvanised roofing sheet with new modern insulation and membrane, replacement of side flashing and repairs to gutters and downpipes. Timber fascias around the flat roof were replaced with UPVC and PVC trim fitted to the front of the dormer. A full overhaul was carried out on the roof and a rooflight was replaced with a Velux window. The work was completed and cleared up within a week. Many thanks to Ian and Jackie who kept in contact throughout the work and to Greg and the rest of his team for the excellent work, nothing was too much trouble for them and it's great to know that there are still some REAL tradesmen around.

Ian and the team did a briliant job replacing a cracked concrete window sill and renewing blown rendering and pointing. They also fixed blocked and broken gutters, roans and roof tiles, and blocked up and plastered over an internal fireplace. The quality of workmanship is excellent and delivered efficiently and on time. Having tried to employee 4 roofers, over a 9 month period with each of them letting us down, I contacted Ian Barrett Roofing Ltd online and within 90min Jackie called me to get more details and arrange an appointment. Ridge tiles needed replaced and fixed back down due to wear and tear and storm damage. Liaised easily with Jackie, Ian and their team to have the work done quickly and efficiently before any more damage could happen. Will absolutely use again for any repairs or replacement work we would like carried out.

I had one tile on my garage roof split and break due to frost damage. After my initial call, I had a couple of chaps appear within a few days. Jackie phoned in advance to let me know what day. It turned out to be an edging tile that was damaged, so Jackie sourced one locally and the roofers went off to collect it. They were back promptly and had the new tile in place in no time at all. The tile was at the top of the roof and held in place by the ridge tile, and so it required a bit of re-cementing. All in all a good job done by two good tradesmen. No complaints at all, oh, and the price was very reasonable.

Everything about the process, from getting the initial quote to the work being completed on time was extremely professional. The work was done to a very high standard.
What I didn't expect when I got the final invoice was that it was less than initially quoted as Ian and the team had found they did not need to put in as many roof vents as initially thought, which was extremely honest of them.

We had a section of roof which was not coping with the water from heavy rainfall. Ian Barrett assessed the work required and had his workmen attend timeously as arranged. Very dependable company Which is really unheard of nowadays. Don't trust any of them but this company exceeded our expectations. The workmen let us know what they were doing every step of the way and if they had to disappear they let us now when they would be back. I had slates come off in the recent storm, neighbours were pointing it out to me and 'roofers' had started knocking on my door offering to fix it. These were clearly chancers and it made me feel very nervous about opening the front door in my own home. I rang a few people I found on google but they were all booked. I got Ian Barrett's number from one of these, and checked them out online and saw they were a Trusted Trader. Jackie in the office was very clear about how busy they were and how long I might have to wait, I agreed to be placed on a list. As it happened a couple of the guys were nearby at that time and come straight over to have a look and replaced the slates there and then!
Honest and straightforward people with the skills to do a job. It was a flat rate for a very quick job but this was made clear to me, I don't have these skills, they do and the visible fix of no slates in the gutter stopped the cowboys knocking on my door.

I have been very pleased indeed with the total re-roughcasting job, with additional cladding, done by Barrett to my home. The quality of the finish is excellent and has been much admired by neighbours and visitors. It would have been useful to have been warned about the extent of the work area so that I could have removed and saved some of my garden plants but I cannot fault the quality of the work done, and I certainly would recommend the company to anyone needing such renovations.

I contacted Barrett Roofing to appraise the roof on my house and to obtain a cost for replacing the guttering around the house, with regards to the roof I was unsure if it required to be retiled.

Following the appraisal of the roof Ian advised that there was no requirement for the roof to be retiled, Ian advised that the roof should be cleaned down to remove the moss and replace any broken tiles.

I have found Barrett Roofing to be an honest / professional company that I wouldn’t hesitate to use again if required & would certainly recommend them to anyone requiring work to be done.

Checking out leaks on my flat roof. Arrived to start work on the scheduled date. Spoke with neighbour about accessing part of our roof via theirs. Always checked if we were taking cars out before obstructing driveway.

Having been ripped off by an unscrupulous roofer previously, I was very wary on getting another roofer in to do work. Ian Barrett was recommended to me, and I can honestly say he has been brilliant. Ian removed old damaged rough casting and gutter/downpipe, and prepared the wall, attached new pvc fascia boards and gutter/downpipe, and applied dry finish rough cast. Also cut slabs to allow a drainage channel. Very happy with the work and end result. Special mention for attention to detail and tidying up! Highly recommended.

After having tried for 13 months to get local roofers in Anstruther/Pittenweem
to come to inspect my roof with not one coming back to me or inspecting work needing doing, I decided to contact Ian Barrett Roofing in Leven, this was at 8.30 one morning this week, spoke to very friendly lady on the phone explaining my problem and asking if they would be willing to come along, inspect the roof and quote for necessary repairs, I was advised they were very busy but she would arrange for someone to call hopefully within the next 2 weeks.
At 10.30 same day I got a call telling me that a couple of their tradesmen had been rained off a job and that she had arranged for them to call and see what was needing done, arriving at 12.00hrs they set about looking over the roof, replacing missing tiles, fixing loose tiles and cleaning weds etc. from gutters. after completing at my house went along and did inspection/repairs on a rental property we have in Anstruther.
I will certainly use this firm again. BRILLIANT SERVICE.

Weather conditions were far from ideal but the workforce remained unphased and retained a cheery outlook throughout.

All debris was removed and my property was left tidy and with the exception of the new fittings and improved appearance you would not know that they had been there , unlike many previous contractors where I had to clean up afterwards.

Re-roofing of house including removal of previous structures. We had a great experience working with Ian Barratt and his team. From the outset, communication was excellent and we were informed in good time of planned work, which was always commenced when indicated. The work spanned several weeks and was carried out by a number of members of the team all of whom worked well and efficiently with care and attention to detail. It was a pleasure to have the guys on site, particularly through very wet and very cold spells of weather - throughout there was no loss of effort or good humour or the feeling that we were being looked after ! Had my roof cleaned by hand with a wire brush as tiles were very porous. 3 tiles were replaced and pointing carried out at the apex. Very pleased with the price which was over £100 cheaper than other companies. All debris was taken away and work done to a high standard. Very quick from request to completion - so reliable- and would definitely recommend.

Bought the property one year ago when we moved back to Scotland knowing that some work was needed on the roof - now retired ex trade myself I knew exactly what work was required - dormer roof repairs - new flat insulated roof to both sections, replace 'cheek' slates with high quality plastic t&g + insulation, new leadwork to gullies & flashings, some new guttering and other small incidental repairs/replacement slates to main roof.
I ran a successful business for 30 years in renovation & restoration work to listed buildings with recommendations throughout keeping myself and team very busy with no need to advertise.
I cannot praise Ian and his team high enough for every aspect of the works they have completed - exceptionally high standard, always on time, excellent communication throughout and an absolute joy to have on site.

Indeed a rare find who can be trusted throughout.
A measure of their professionalism & care must be highlighted in that I arrived home the other day to find some of the team on site - they were just passing and noticed a dislodged slate up on the roof which they were rectifying as a matter of course.
I am now trying to book Ian and his team for further work, but as always when you are excellent at what you do you are inevitably very busy.

Excellent and efficient work. Complete re tiling , guttering etc on a five bedroom detached house in 2016.

Various plaster work, roofing work, PVC fascia and rough casting

Fascia , soffits, gutters and downpipes replaced on double garage. Concrete removed from edges and replaced with new plastic verge. All moss was removed from roof. All debris was removed from site. Nice guys, worked well.

Came to survey the job when he said he would and then his team turned up prompt, every day as promised, done a fantastic job on my roof and rough casting, very polite and left a clean site at the end of every shift. Would thoroughly recommend.
