We are a family run business that first started back in 2003. Craig has been involved in the electrical industry for over 30 years now, starting out with a local electrician and completing his recognised apprenticeship after leaving school, this then lead him to gain a wide and varied array of electrical knowledge which has helped build our business into what it is today.
We have built up a strong customer base over the years working on the general domestic electrical needs of our personal customers along with providing varied electrical services for landlords, property letting agencies and contractors.
We are:
- Based in Cupar but willing to travel far and wide for our customers electrical needs.
- Approved Electricians, which means we are able to provide the relevant electrical certificates for local authorities and insurance companies covering any work under taken by ourselves.
- Proud to be members of the following organisations - Fife Trusted Traders, Select and Scottish Building Standards – all of these organisations keep an eye on us throughout the year ensuring we are providing a first class service and following current regulations and guidelines.

I recently had a kitchen fitted and I was left with only 50% of the lights working. Craig Swinton Ltd arrived and rectified the issue, they also replaced two security lights on my property and shed. My dimmer switch was also faulty which they replaced.
The staff were polite and professional and I could not fault the quality of their work. Craig Swinton Ltd will be at the top of my list to complete future electrical work.

I required electrical components for my local electrician to replace. These were supplied with advice on fitting. When my electrician came he established that the existing control units were in fact in good order and only needed a simple adjustment.
I enquired of Craig Swinton whether a refund on return of the material was possible. My request was readily agreed to and the full refund was paid into my bank within a few days. A very agreeable firm to do business with.

Hard wiring of the fire and smoke detectors alarms,checking and updating all the electrics.
The work started on time and was completed in the timescale as agreed.

Fuse box linked to wall sockets kept tripping, not the individual fuse switches. Replaced fuse switches and mains switch. Carried out check of sockets to find source of problem. Very genuine tradesmen who arrived when advised, gave a quote prior to carrying out repairs. Gave options on what could be done and recommended best route, which proved to be correct. Very presentable , removed shoes before coming into the house and did not leave a mess on completion of work.

Craig took down an old kitchen light fitment and fitted two new light fittings over the worktop. Very reliable - he came when he said he would and did the work as requested, to a high standard.
Very professional and efficient throughout. One of the light fittings was faulty, so I had to arrange for a replacement. Then request Craig's return to refit the new item.
Again, Craig fitted this work in quickly and well. Very grateful for the standard of work done - Craig and his team were very pleasant throughout.

Craig and his team installed internal and external lighting in a new build extension, upgraded downlights in the existing property and fitted integrated smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. There was clear and prompt communication from Nicola in the office, they arrived when they said they would and the team were professional, efficient and very tidy. This is the second time that Craig Swinton and his team have worked on our house and we are delighted yet again.
Last time it was for a bar
This time Craig designed and installed wiring for our new garden gym which included Air Source heating/ cooling a wet room and also a sauna.
Craig worked seamlessly with the builders to create an amazing space.

I used this company to have an EICR done for my holiday rental. I was so impressed with them that I got them back to install cabinet lights in the kitchen. The guys were efficient, tidy and friendly. Communication from the office is good too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company.

The work was undertaken with professional care and attention (and due respect to recently decorated rooms etc). No mess was left behind and they were happy to deal with any questions. Connection of new consumer unit and full test of electrics. After several attempts at getting the work done by others. Craig Swinton Electrical was the only company that had a good exchange of information and despite the difficulties of the current circumstances made a date and stuck to it. They completed the work in good time and did a nice neat installation for me. I have given them 5/5 for value on the basis of previous quotes being higher AND they did the job!! I'd happily contact them again for any future electrical work. Recomended.

Recent work was to replace security lighting all round house. Prompt arrival, all COVID precautions taken, good communication and everything left very tidy. We have used Craig and team for a number of jobs over the years and have recommended him to our neighbours and friends who have all been pleased with the work done. Our first impression of Craig was his immaculately kept van interior - always a good sign! For our first job renovating our house, he walked us from room to room suggesting the best way to arrange the lighting and switches which we have always been grateful for.

In this instance, our old outside lighting system was broken and it was difficult/impossible at times to see down steps/paths in the dark. Craig gave advice on the system we chose and Nicola in the office was also extremely helpful. We had used Craig before and knew the quality of his work and the pride he takes in it. I think the estimate was reasonable. Craig and his co workers arrived on time and worked away until the job was finished and left with assurances to call if we had any problems or questions. I would certainly use him again for any electrical work. Great to find a company so reliable.

Craig and his team completed a range of electrical work for us when our new conservatory/orangery was being built. He installed all of our wall and floor electrical sockets, automated roof vents, our underfloor heating and control, a number of LED downlighters, an LED strip light that he embedded into the 4 sides of our cupola, and external LED lighting which illuminates our garden. All of this work was completed to a very high standard and I was particularly impressed by the way that Craig was keen to work with us to make sure that all of our requirements were fully met. I would be very happy to recommend this company to friends and family.

We had an additional socket added to one of our bedrooms. The 2 electricians arrived on time and completed the work quickly explaining the steps they were taking to complete the job.
After completion the room was completely tided and the socket has looked like it was always there!

Had a new fusebox installed and a check of the electrics in my home. Couldn't recommend Craig and his team more highly - transparent quote and honest advice was given by Craig prior to the work being done, and the resulting work was exactly as discussed, and the team were prompt, friendly and tidy on the day. Our house required a full re-wire with new fuse box, sockets and lighting. Craig Swinton was recommended and we were glad he could take the work on as we engaged in May to work in June and he managed to complete the job in 2 weeks to very high standards.

We had all ceiling lights replaced in our house, and are very happy with the results. The electricians who did the work were prompt and courteous, and were very responsive and accommodating when we had a change request. We have recently added a large extension to our property and all the electrical work was carried out by Craig Swinton Electrical Ltd.
Craig, Scott and Anton were nothing short of fantastic throughout the whole project. Several issues arose, none which were of their making, and they could not have done more to try and resolve these. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
I cannot recommend them highly enough and they will certainly be my first port of call should I need any electrical work done in the future.

Electrical works to rent out our property. In Scotland there are many legal requirements that you have to comply with as a Landlord. Craig knew everything that was needed. We had new smoke alarms connected, including lifting the carpet and providing new wiring. We had the electrical report of the whole house done (EICR) and also the heat sensor fitted in the kitchen.
Craig and his colleague completed the work in a matter of hours, with no intrusion to myself. In fact, they have been the only tradesmen I have used that even provided their own hoover. You would never have known any work had been installed as they left the property in the same condition as they found it.
I have no hesitation in recommending Craig Swinton Electrical Ltd, they are a local company and would use them again when required.
