Had work done on a blocked waste pipe in Bathroom basin in Sept 2020. Recommended I get a new monobloc basin tap from Screwfix.
Eventually did this on 27/4/2021 and suggested it would be fitted at a discount. New tap fitted on 12/5. After fitting, was told I needed a low pressure tap. Hardly any pressure and my old tap had been taken away. Complained the work was not fit for purpose and I had acted as advised. Firm agreed to get another tap and fit. If the first new tap had been checked before fitting, I could have been refunded the cost.
Lessons learnt. 1. Question what is being done and check suitability of the product before work commences.
2. Charged labour for first fitting that was not suitable. At least the Business development manager later sourced a suitable tap.

Two routine but necessary small plumbing jobs carried out on time, cheerfully and efficiently. Would definitely engage R3 again.

I have used R3 twice(to repair facing on an extension and to repair and paint gutters) and they have quickly provided estimates and completed work relatively quickly. However on both occassions they have overestimated the amount of time and effort needed for the work. The first occassion was minor, but on the second I was led to believe that the work would require external scaffolding and take two days. The onsite workers were clear they would not need the scaffold and completed the work in two (seperate) half days. I asked that this be considered in my invoice and after following up with a call and an email received this response from contract manager
'You are correct that our trades team didn’t feel the use of our temporary scaffold was necessary. Though this wouldn’t have had any real impact on the speed of the works being completed. Unfortunately the quote we provided was not an estimate and is always a fixed price for a fixed job, it is therefore not adjustable after the contract has been completed.'
I feel it is important to point this out to other customers, in effect it means that any savings in time and effort from overestimating work done remains with the company.

Smoke, heat and carbon monoxide detectors fitted to comply with the new Scottish Government regulations, which were due to become law in February 2021, but possibly extended due to the Coronavirus lockdowns causing problems with getting these jobs done. That's ours done ahead of the regulations becoming law. Scott worked, safe distancing, but explaining every step of what he was doing, then talked through how the system worked. We also got our electrical wiring throughout checked and asked about getting single sockets replaced with double, so Scott said he'd get us a quote for that job. Very happy with the works done, Scott's friendly, professional attitude and he even cleaned up at the back of himself.

I had a combination of lights fitted internally and externally. My wooden staircase had a step in disrepair which is now fixed along with two internal doors sanded down. A bathroom tap’s water flow was improved. Bathroom Lino was laid. And my external walls were painted along with varnish application to the wooden soffits.

I’m very happy with the works carried out and glad I went for this all-in-one traded service!

Removed broken cement all round the house base and renewed same.
The work was first class and when finished it was left clean and tidy.

We had R3 fit 3 doors for us, as it was a larger job we had to have someone come and take a look to quote. We then had to accept the quote and have an appointment booked. This part of this service is really easy and everyone we spoke to was professional and friendly.
When the job was being done the person working on it was really nice and friendly, the work didn't take that long and was done to a really high standard. Very happy with our new doors, so happy that we are getting them to quote on another job. Definitely recommend.

R3 Direct, led by John Dickson, undertook installation of a new combi central heating boiler and installed two new bathrooms at my flat in Edinburgh. All work was completed to a high standard, on time and at a very reasonable price. A great service and I would highly recommend R3 to anyone.

We had water damage to our bathroom which required removal of the bathroom fittings , floor tiles and floor. They treated affected areas, tied pipes, replaced floor, laid new floor tiles and replaced the bathroom. They also carried out additional work to downstairs toilet.

We had been let down by other companies and decided to contact R3. Although they might be slightly more expensive than other companies, they were very reliable and the standard of work with excellent. They were very tidy and left no mess what so ever.

It was easy to book an appointment on line and the contracts manager went through our requirements thoroughly and sent a quote within a few days. The workmen for the 2 days were very pleasant and hard working.

They followed all covid-19 guidance.

Cold water tank & hot water tank removed cold water connected to mains replaced a small hot water tank when finished you wouldn’t have known a work man had been in. I’ve used them twice since & they are coming to do another job for me

Replacement of bathroom fan vent grid with hooded cover to prevent strong wind blowing dust into fan and the bathroom . We are very pleased with the work done by Findlay. He came within the scheduled time, phoning ahead to give arrival time. He went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with his work including cleaning out, on our request, dust/sand which had accumulated in the street end of the fan tunnel. He neatly silicone sealed the vent in place with brown silicone.

Diagnosis and repair to leak in bathroom. Work carried out efficiently. Would use R3 again and no hesitation in recommending to others.

Renewing seal and plug in downstairs shower, installing new bath and shower/ vanity unit/ levelling floor upstairs.

The best thing about R3 is the workers are all very pleasant and helpful,give lots of useful advice. Made minimum amount of noise, very good when clients may be working from home.Managed to get work done after lifting of Covid restrictions pretty quickly .The system of a foreman coming to inspect after the job is done means anything needing improved is picked up quickly and completed, we were grateful for this.The advantage to having an unmbrella company like this is you have access to plumbers/joiners/electricians in a one -stop place.
