I have used Mark and the team at Musselburgh Slaters for several jobs now, both at our own home and at my father’s. Jobs include: slate replacement; mending cracked harling; putting up anti-pigeon wire round eaves; replacing a perished, wooden fascia of a dormer window with more durable UPVC; stripping, pointing and harling a chimney; replacing guttering, fitting cowls to chimneys. In all cases the work was done to the highest standard and we were shown photos before, during and after the job and kept up to date with every stage of the process. Mark, Mitch and the team are very professional and also polite and good fun.

Mark arrived for the survey on time and emailed my quote that night. Work was completed on time and to a high standard. His team kept me updated on the progress at the end of each night. They left the work area spotless at the end of the job. I had all of the wooden sofits replaced with maintenance free upvc. The cost was slightly over budget but that was down to unforseen problems caused by my extension. I would highly recommend Mark and his team.

Replaced all of the roof tiles which were damaged beyond repair.
Watched them working on a neighbour’s house in April in dreadful conditions and thought they look good. I was right - very professional from my first conversations with both Mark and Mitch (and everyone else) but also friendly and engaging, explaining everything that needed done and action’s taken. Also left the place spotless.

I had a leak in my roof which was coming from the watergate. Mitch identified the problem area and came back to repair it the next day. I was sent photos of the before and after which was very helpful to see for myself the work that was carried out. The repair was completed quickly and efficiently and with no mess.

The whole roof was replaced after a previous contractor damaged it beyond repair. The guys worked in atrocious conditions and it was done in 4 days. The garden was left tidy and intact. The team was punctual, extremely pleasant and hard workers.
Once I get the funds together I will have them back to replace my garage roof.

We recently had a roof leak at our skylight. Mark attended promptly to assess the problem and provide us with a quote to strip out the damaged skylight and any damaged timber, frame out , underfelt and tile the area. The team arrived at time agreed and carried out the repairs in a professional and friendly manner. Would recommend this team and would use them again. very good customer service throughout.

We found a leak in the conservatory roof just days after getting the keys to our new home. Mark provided a prompt response and a quote within days. Although our job had to be rescheduled due to all the bad weather we've been having, his team was great when it came down to it. They addressed the leak and cleaned the gutters, went around the rest of the roof patching up anything that could pose potential issues for us and took the time to talk us through the work that had been done. The work carries a 2-year guarantee but fingers crossed it won't be needed. Friendly, professional and efficient - would highly recommend.

Mark and team were excellent. They sorted a roof issue which was causing rain water to leak through the kitchen ceiling light. There were heavy rains soon after the roof was repaired, but no further leaks. I've since recommended the company to other family members.

Mark and his team repaired damaged render on a garden wall and filled cracks in exterior render on the property wall. The work was costed as in the estimate (which covered everything including materials), completed on time, and left tidy. Musselburgh Slaters had fixed my leaking roof, chimney and removed the skylight. They did the repair promptly and sent pictures of the repairs. The team were friendly, and very professional. They not only fixed whenever needed to be fixed but also cleaned up the gutters! Mark answered all my questions and queries. I would definitely used Musselburgh Slaters in the future and will recommend to anyone.

Re-Roofing my cottage. The work was carried out in a thoroughly professional manner by an expert & communicative team run by an experienced and pleasant manager.

Prompt attendance and prompt quote from Mark for extensive repairs/replacement and overhaul to slate roof + several other items. Although not the cheapest, I was happy with his approach to the work required and he kept to the dates originally set. The team doing the work was led by Mitch, who was very good at explaining what he was going to be doing and showing photos throughout of 'before and after' work done. I feel that the work was done to a high standard and that Mitch had the experience and ability to deal with everything that was required. So, a happy customer who would happily have 'Musselburgh Slaters' back again (although hopefully they will not be needed for a while!).

We have used the services of the company twice in our group of four villas and found the work done efficiently and at a reasonable cost. Mark is friendly and happy to help, and to give an honest assessment of what needs done. We were pleased with the service and would call on the company again.
