Business Information
First established in 1988, we are a local, family owned and ran company. We carry out landscaping projects both large and small for residential clients throughout the Lothians. We undertake a variety of gardens from initial design through the whole installation process to completion. We are TREX COMPOSITE DECKING PRO INSTALLERS - see Trex.com - and fit and supply both both timber and TREX composite decks, driveways, patios, walls, turfing and artificial grass installation, fencing, gravel and all forms of soft planting.
We also maintain and manage residential and private estates. We own machinery ranging from pedestrian to ride-on mowers with collection, out front ride-on mowers and tractors with mounted mowers. We currently own a Kubota F3680 61" out front mower, a John Deere 1545 62" out front mower, a Kubota F3090 60" with flail mower, a Kubota G21 48" and a Kubota G23 48" mid mounted mowers with collection and a Kubota L4240 tractor with 12' Trimax mower attached. All mowers are operated by trained staff giving the best, professional finish.
Our eldest son Lewis joined the company in 2016 and has excelled. His younger brother Ben joined in 2019 and they will form the future of the company. Initially called Philip Mitchell Landscaping, to reflect the input and the future ownership, in 2020 we decided to change the company name. Therefore as of February 2020 the trading name of the company was changed to Mitchell Landscaping and Ground Care Limited.

We have maintained the grounds of Gosford House for 30 years. We use several different machines for the different lawns throughout the estate.
Client wanted to changed a large 150 square metre patio to a more modern composite decked terrace. With additional planters, artificial grassed utility area and gravel grids.

The work undertaken was a new fence for front garden.
Phil and his two boys did a first class job. They arrived in time and were very courteous and professional throughout the job.
They cleaned up as they went along and all rubbish taken away.
This is the third job they have done for us and we are delighted with the work. We would fully recommend this company to future customers.

We have used Phil before on several occasions and had no worries about having him refurbish an area of the garden into composite decking. His suggestions about materials and layout was spot on.
The area was cleared in a tidy and speedy manner by Phil, Lewis and Ben and completely rejuvenated with beautiful decking.
They were all very hardworking and pleasant and the job was in completed in the time promised.

We contacted Mitchell Landscaping and Ground Care to request an estimate to have artificial grass laid in our garden. Phil arrived at our house at exactly the time he stated on his reply. He was very polite, and professional in the manner he reviewed our work requirements offering constructive suggestions and ideas.
After accepting his quote he turned up with his two assistants on the date and time arranged to lay the turf. They worked in a very structured manner obviously being very experienced in this type of work and were very polite and friendly people to have working in your property.
I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Mitchell Landscaping and Ground Care to anyone as they are an excellent company to deal with.

I have used Mitchell Landscaping before and was happy to use them again. They relaid a large patio (not originally laid by them), laid a brick edging, cut back a hedge and repaired a wooden fruit cage. As ever, the work was of a high standard. The team are friendly and professional. They come when they say they will. I will use them again.
They also carry out regular garden maintenance for me - lawn mowing and hedge trimming. I am very happy with their service.

He and his team did an excellent job of removing my old shed, laying a base for a new one, putting up fencing and laying decking. A pleasure to have Phil and his two sons carrying out work in my front garden. Estimate sent by email and date of commencement of work confirmed. The team were very prompt and tidy in their approach to work. No stopping for long mobile calls just got on with the job. Phil is very experienced in what he does but still happy to listen to the customer's input for design etc. Neat, tidy, smart and polite with a perfect job done at the end in a timely fashion, what more can you ask for? If you want Mitchel Landscaping, think ahead and get a date in the diary as they are very popular and busy but well worth the wait.

We had a decking area, new garden gate and raised beds put in. We also had the surround for out patio replaced, an edge made to our lawn, numerous bushes pruned and new plants put in the raised beds. The quality of the work done by Phil and his son was excellent. From the outset, the communication from Phil was great. He talked through the job with us and throughout the work he updated and discussed it with us. All for a reasonable cost. We are very happy with how our garden now looks. We would definitely recommend Phil to anyone and we will definitely use him and his son again.
