Business Information
First established in 1988, we are a local, family owned and ran company. We carry out landscaping projects both large and small for residential clients throughout the Lothians. We undertake a variety of gardens from initial design through the whole installation process to completion. We are TREX COMPOSITE DECKING PRO INSTALLERS - see Trex.com - and fit and supply both both timber and TREX composite decks, driveways, patios, walls, turfing and artificial grass installation, fencing, gravel and all forms of soft planting.
We also maintain and manage residential and private estates. We own machinery ranging from pedestrian to ride-on mowers with collection, out front ride-on mowers and tractors with mounted mowers. We currently own a Kubota F3680 61" out front mower, a John Deere 1545 62" out front mower, a Kubota F3090 60" with flail mower, a Kubota G21 48" and a Kubota G23 48" mid mounted mowers with collection and a Kubota L4240 tractor with 12' Trimax mower attached. All mowers are operated by trained staff giving the best, professional finish.
Our eldest son Lewis joined the company in 2016 and has excelled. His younger brother Ben joined in 2019 and they will form the future of the company. Initially called Philip Mitchell Landscaping, to reflect the input and the future ownership, in 2020 we decided to change the company name. Therefore as of February 2020 the trading name of the company was changed to Mitchell Landscaping and Ground Care Limited.

We have maintained the grounds of Gosford House for 30 years. We use several different machines for the different lawns throughout the estate.
Client wanted to changed a large 150 square metre patio to a more modern composite decked terrace. With additional planters, artificial grassed utility area and gravel grids.

Excellent job from start to finish. Our new fence has transformed the front garden. They removed an old wall and grubbed out some tired shrubs tidying as they progressed. The whole job was done in two days.

Phil and his son put up a new boundary fence for us and we're very pleased with the end result and the excellent quality of workmanship. They took particular care with the boundary line, were helpful with advice and suggestions and in general a pleasure to deal with. Ground Maintenance Contract: Mitchell Landscaping have provided an excellent service to the Association for a number of years and were recently successful in retaining the contract until 2027. They also provide various ad-hoc services as required also to an excellent quality.

Phil and team erected fences on both sides of our garden. We changed both the timescale and our plans, following our initial discussions, which did not phase Phil. He was very flexible, his advice was invaluable and we are delighted with the end result. The work was completed to a very high standard, everything was cleared up and the waste taken away.

Phil and his son did a great job repairing and replacing my front garden fence after a bin lorry had driven through and destroyed it. From the start, Phil was great to communicate with and was happy to take on the job. Other companies I’d spoken to were reluctant to do the job as it was an insurance claim. The work itself was excellent and was completed quickly despite the pretty horrible weather conditions. Would happily recommend Phil’s work.

Phil and his team maintain the grounds here at Saltoun Hall. The quality of their work is superb. They are a pleasure to deal with, having positive and cooperative skills, which are especially necessary as there are so many challenging aspects to maintaining the grounds for all the different residents here.
They come with their own equipment which is kept in top condition.
Phil is also very knowledgable gardener and for us a skilled groundkeeper.

Work comprised of lifting old and broken paths and replacing with new slabs. Also included the creation of a paved area at the side of the house to accommodate refuse and recycling bins. The back door steps were also paved.

Rear garden was needing updated and landscaped to make better use of the space. This was done with great efficiency and understanding for what was needed. The work was completed within a short time span and the area was left clean and tidy of debris at the end of the working day. Would highly recommend this company.
