Unfortunately I lost my mum last December- she had a funeral plan which was so helpful but two and a half months later I also lost my brother. I can’t express my gratitude enough to all the staff who helped me navigate this terrible experience with empathy and going above and beyond. From the girls in the high street who went out their way to make everything I asked for happen to Stuart who phoned to check everything was as it should be and after the funerals arranged for the inscriptions to be added to existing headstone.
I can’t recommend them enough- if I say I will be arranging my funeral plan with them shortly I don’t think you can get a better recommendation.

Can't praise all staff enough when they cared for us and did the funeral of our dad Tom in 2022. They cared and explained everything from start to finish. We were treated with the upmost dignity and respect during a very difficult and emotional time. Would use their service again in the future, great team.

The service provided by m&f funeral services was nothing short of exceptional. They treated my late brother with dignity and the utmost respect. They also gave me more support than imaginable. From start to finish they provided a service that was kind , caring and dignified. All the staff that where involved in the care of my brother where genuinely the most compassionate people I have ever met. They knew my brother was a celtic fan and added the most beautiful touches. They painted hos coffin green and white adding the celtic badge too. I will never be able to thank them for what they done and the compassion shown at my time of need.

I have waited several months to write this review and still can’t find the right words to describe my gratitude to everyone at M&F funeral services, loosing my brother in law Kyle tragically at a young age the family were traumatised, I took over the funeral arrangements and was advised from several friends to go to M&F, I have never been so overwhelmed by the care and compassion shown towards myself and my grieving family by these amazing people. They took over everything for us, Jordan and Dan collected Kyle and took him to the funeral parlour giving him one last drive through the city playing his favourite songs, they treated him with absolute dignity and respect, they kept us up to date with everything that was happening. Kirsten, Jordan and Dan visited the family to find out everything about Kyle, they came up with so many ideas to make Kyles funeral extra special. I was in awe what these amazing people done. Kyle was so passionate about his music, Dan from M&F transformed Kyles coffin to make it absolutely unique, he painted it all and added the most amazing artwork of Kyles favourite bands, I have never seen anything like it, it was stunning and his family were overwhelmed with what they did. The care they gave to him while at the parlour was phenomenal, we were allowed to visit day or night to sit with Kyle, the room they made for us to visit Kyle was so comforting, Kyle was surrounded by family photos, flowers, candles and his favourite childhood teddies in beside him whilst his favourite songs gently played, all these little touches they added was by listening to our stories of Kyle it was so beautiful, the funeral was nothing I’d ever seen, the hearse was stunning, the boys had it gleaming with kyles signature rock signs on the hearse it was amazing, they had candles and special photos around his spectacular coffin draped in the most beautiful flowers, Jordan and Dan dressed in the most amazing outfits that Kyle would have loved, they drove Kyle round North Berwick to all his favourite places and the boys got out and saluted him at his local pub, Jordan got out and walked infront of the coffin the length of the high street while Kyles favourite songs were being played, flares went off down the whole high street as they passed through the town, it was the most spectacular funeral I’d ever seen, Kyles family were so overwhelmed with the efforts they all put in and will be eternally grateful, I would recommend M&F to anyone that looses a loved one, I certainly will never go anywhere else but them when I’m unfortunate to loose another loved one. Kyle had the best send off you could ever imagine and it was all down to them, forever grateful, most amazing people you’ll ever meet. Thank you M&F funeral services.

Everyone at M&F funeral are exceptional at what they do.At an extremely difficult time they collected my mum with so much dignity they went out of their way to make sure we were ok nothing was too much for them . They made everything that little more bearable my family and I would like to thank them for the great care they took of our mother Patricia Jamieson . It was very good indeed, I had no idea how well I would be looked after, how much consideration would be offered me and how well our wishes would be met, respected and never was I rushed. Everything was done with utmost care.

Where do I even begin with this. After the very sudden and sad loss of my baby who was born sleeping I took to social media for guidance on a funeral director that could look after my baby boy. M&F were highly recommend on my post with a few others but for some reason I was drawn to M&F and I always follow my gut and I'm so glad I did because after my very first conversation with Daniel I knew he was the person I wanted to look after my baby boy. I felt after speaking with Daniel he lifted a massive weight off my shoulders as I didn't even know where to begin. But Daniel completely reassured me of everything, guided me and reassured me of any fears, nothing was a problem, infact very much went above and beyond for us. Not only did he care for my baby but he looked after and supported myself and my family to. As did Jordan and Kirsten. It isn't just a job to these guys they care so much and they listen and that was so reassuring for the 4 weeks baby Sol was in there care......while going through the most traumatic time of our lives, I dunno how I'd have managed without there care and support, So from the bottom of my hearts, thankyou M&F, especially Daniel, Jordan and Kirsten. You all done my baby boy so proud and there are no words really to express how greatful we are. It was also a very special touch having my baby Sol piped into the cemetery by Jordan, So thankyou once again for everything, the McDonald family xx

Stewart and the guys made what was 1 of the most devastating periods of my life, as bearable as it could be. From the very 1st visit nothing was to much trouble. Always at the end of the phone to answer any question I had.

On the 27th November 2021 I gave birth to my 21 week old boy Harry. It was all very sudden and the worst week of my life. Dan and Kirstin, I could not ask for anyone else better. Kirstin called me to go through everything, she made sure it was perfect. I cried and laughed on the phone to this wonderful woman and I appreciate it. Dan, who I really don't even have enough words in this world to write how amazing he was. Every single step on the way he was there for me. Myself and my family will never forget what M & F funeral services did for us. When a loved one dies its the hardest thing but it makes it a little easier when you have people like Kirstin and Dan and a great service, so thank you❤️

Kirstin and Daniel dealt with my babys funeral and have to say from the moment they picked him up from Glasgow he was treated like an absolute Prince they cared for him like he was one of their own and treated me and my wife with the upmost respect and cared about how we were feeling each step of the day they listened to us and gave us exactly what we wanted and went above and beyond to make sure the hardest day of our life's was that little bit easier then on the day it was the little things like ribbons on the car doors that topped it off I can't say enough good things about them and will never be able to repay them for the way they treated us

After suddenly losing my father very quickly due to covid ammonia.

M&F Funeral Services looked after my father from the beginning to the end. When collected from hospital they even had his music playing from Wishaw to Musselburgh. Looked after him properly making sure he looked the way he would have liked. Hair cut, nails trimmed, 3 piece suit pristine and his baseball cap (because he always stole his grandchildren's)

Nothing was too much to ask, they allowed us to come late in the day as we stayed in Lanarkshire so we could have some time alone with our Father, grandfather and great grandfather, without feeling rushed or watched over as we said our goodbyes.

The service its self on the day was a funeral everyone commented on, telling his 3 daughters how beautiful a service it was and how it was purely focused on the life and legacy my father left behind. Start To Finish Was perfect.

The flowers they helped arranged also were breath-taking and beautiful.

I can't thank Jordan, Kirsten and Daniel enough for their hard work and help. The small things created a long lasting memory of how I will remember my father.

But what I will always cherish is the thumb print jewellery they mentioned when I was near finishing discussing the arrangements. It will always be with me and close to my heart.

It is true that you get a lot more from an independent funeral director and this is the case with M&F. A small dedicated team to look after you at one of the worst times of your life. With large funeral directors you will be dealing with dozens of different people and sometimes people outwith Scotland and I feel this makes the process lose its personal touch. M&F will make you feel welcome and put you and your loved one first.

This is the second time we have dealt with M&F and in particular Kirsten is great to deal with. Your overall service was excellent and Kirsten cared for my wife first time around and then my mum.
