Colin was recommended to us by a close friend, and when he came to quote we realised that he'd been here 15 years before for work on the rhones. Good to get a company with a long established reputation.
We needed some repairs to valleys and chimney stack, and had some slipped slates. We also wanted our flat roof renewed before it started to cause problems, and to have some insulation panels added to try to cut our heating bills. He came back to us very quickly with a good price and was able to start work within a few weeks. The roofers were reliable and friendly, and we got daily photos from Colin of the work as it progressed (very helpful, as we can't get up there to see it for ourselves). The work was done on time and on budget - he even got the guys to fix a leaking gutter I just spotted during the works.
Only issue is the delay in getting the scaffolding down - but that's contracted to another company and they have been affected by Covid so I'm not upset about it.
We have recommended Colin to neighbours and family for other works.

The roofers turned up when they said they would. If there was any change of plan, Colin always let us know. On site we had no complaints at all. The roofers were polite, hard working and friendly. We’d certainly have no hesitation in recommending L&E Roofing Contractors.

Colin and his team made some harling repairs to our walls after storm damage. The work is of good quality, reasonably priced and was done promptly within the agreed timetable. We're very happy with the service we received from Colin's team and would certainly use them again for any work in future.

We’ve used Colin and his team a couple of times. Colin has given us great advice which we were so appreciative of. The guys worked to a high standard in painting and repairing soffits and removing and cleaning gutters. They were friendly and professional and so wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Had some problems with damp in one of our bedrooms so asked L and E Roofing to take a look, turns out the whole outside wall was damp, and they identified lots of problems with the wall, parts of the roof, a chimney that need resurfacing and vegetation growing from the wall.

Couldn't be happier with the work, all of the problema above were dealt with. The work was done very quickly and the guys were very professional throughout amd we were impressed with how tidy the area was after they left each night. The nature of the problem meant that they were working in our elderly neighbours garden, and they were very respectful towards her.

Communication was excellent throughout, and there were no surprise changes to the agreed quote, so very happy with everything.

Would definately work with L and E Roofing again in the future.

Had roughcasting replaced in a particularly awkward place. Colin came and gave a very reasonable quote. His workers came when he said they would. Due to location of damaged rendering they had to work off neighbour's roof. They treated the job with respect and took videos for me to show neighbours the work done and the fact their roof was intact after works to their satisfaction. They actually found issues with the flashing on neighbours roof which they repaired. After works they tidied up as completely as they could. During works Colin's workers were courteous and answered any queries.
Neighbours have commented on the job, both the works done and the matching of the rendering. One neighbour in particular asked about the East Lothian Trust a Trader sticker on Colin's works vans.
Happy with works done and would use L & E Roofing Contractors again and would recommend them to friends.

Had Colin come out to quote for work on my roof, arrived when he said he would, quickly got quote, and gave go ahead, a week later work started, tradesmen were friendly, worked efficiently and tidied up thoroughly after they’d finish! External fascia boards and gutter work. Colin's advice very helpful, kept us informed all way through, friendly staff, area left clean and tidy when finished. I would highly recommend his company, and would have no hesitation in contacting him again.

Used L&E roofing for the second time after a great repair previously.

Came out and quoted swiftly for myself and also my in laws, was honest and said we would need to wait a little bit as he was busy (understandable when they provide a good service). Job complete this morning on my own home and in laws and both happy with completed job. If we have any further issues L&E roofing would be my first port of call and I would recommend them to any one else as well!!

L&E roofing were recommended to ourselves after doing a job for another family member. Came out very quickly and quoted, we excepted the quote which was good value for money.
Attended this morning and one word “Amazing”. Guys were polite and fixed a leak we had and also sorted a job not done very well by a previous roofer. Silver cowl had to be re-situated back onto the top of the chimney after working loose in the recent storms. Also had several tiles replaced at the same time. Colin responded quickly to my emails and did the work within a couple of days which was much appreciated.

Colin and his team completed the repair to the gutters and the ridge on my house they arrived on time they were friendly and clean and tidy workers. Overall they they were very professional company and I would definitely recommend this company in the future

Colin Edwards fitted a new garage roof and replaced slates on main house.
He came promptly and carried the work out extremely efficiently.
I will certainly use him again should the need arise.

After Storm Arwen needed ridge tiles refitted. Used the site as wanted a trustworthy company. Contacted Colin and he was very responsive. Provided a quote quickly, which was competitive, was honest that we would need wait a few weeks due to a backlog of work however, told me to contact him if there was water ingress (which there was not) and he would reprioritise us. Was in regular contact, knowledgeable and left the site tidy after they finished. Would not hesitate to recommend. Simon

Colin was working on a neighbours roof when I approached him for advice regarding my leaky guttering. He was extremely helpful and fixed out the problem right away.

L&E fixed an issue with the roof lining and cleaner the gutters. The customer service was excellent and the responsiveness of the company was excellent as well as the job was assessed, quoted and completed quickly. On the day the team were prompt, polite and very considerate. I would recommend their services to anyone.
I couldn't give them a 5 for value for money only because having never had such a service before I found it difficult to judge that.
