John Stevenson the owner of this business has been self employed for over 30 years, I served my apprenticeship with a small local building company who offered me an excellent training in joinery/building and learned all about manufacturing and machining techniques. I cover pretty much everything from extensive window/ door repairs to manufacturing new replica replacement joinery/doors windows etc.Kitchen fitting, bespoke furniture/cased goods,Attic conversions, sash and case overhaul with double glazing and draught proofing. I was a member of East Lothian trusted trader from 2014 to 2021and due to restrictions at the time I became involved in the refurbishment/ renovation at Chesterhill House Humbie which has lasted over three and a half years. I have worked with John both professionally through my former business and personally on my own home. John carried out a programme of refurbishment works to an early Georgian Villa for our office from 2022 to 2024. He is a true craftsman, the work is of excellent quality and he always delivered our designs exactly as intended. We designed some fairly bespoke cased goods units with quirky design features and John was always happy to work with us on the technicalities and provide his expertise into the design development. I have learned a lot working with John.
John has also installed windows, decorative panelling and built cased goods at my personal home and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to any client or interested party.

John is an exceptionally skilled, careful and respectful craftsman whom I recommend without hesitation. He has repaired old sash windows and door frames in a Georgian house and created new cupboards and bespoke furniture, all to a very high standard (see some photos below). John has shown great patience with new and changing requests over an extended period and has been a pleasure to have in the house.
