Great reliable service. Loved the communication. Excellent workmanship. Had a shower installed over a bath and a shower screen and tiling etc too - to match existing tiles. So good and reliable I have had them back for my boiler service - again very reliable - came when they said they would and neat and tidy and professional. Will be using them again in future.

I have had a new gas boiler fitted. From the initial inspection to decide on the most appropriate boiler to be fitted, to receiving the quote and arranging a date, to the work carried out, I cannot fault the service provided by this company. The engineers worked a full day to complete the work, they arrived on time, were friendly, courteous and tidy. From my experience of the service James W Alexander provided, I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Jim and his team fitted my new kitchen and boiler. They were friendly, kind and nothing was too much bother. There were a few hiccups (not their fault) and they dealt with them quickly and professionally and made sure I had a fully working kitchen as soon as possible. Jim even suggested a significant alteration to the original plans and he was absolutely right, my kitchen looks even better. I am delighted with it and it looks exactly as I imagined it.

Work done - Installation of new boiler and replacement of a leaking hot water cylinder.
Jim recommended a compact boiler which fitted inside an existing kitchen cabinet. Scott and Ian arrived on time, worked hard and were very helpful. They left everything clean and tidy and removed all rubbish. Central heating system is working well and we are very happy with the job done.

I had a new kitchen installed, floor laminated, tiling and painting. I was extremely impressed with Jim and all his team. Everyone was lovely, kind, friendly and helpful and did an excellent job. Jim kept me posted all the time and let me know which workman would be here and when. The quality of the workmanship was exceptional and I will definitely be going to Jim and his team for future work. Very happy customer.

We had a new boiler fitted in a different location to the original. It involved quite a lot of new pipework, but Scott and Ian worked quickly and efficiently to complete the work in good time. We were impressed by the courtesy and friendliness of the staff
(Jim did say that a lot of his staff had been with him for a long time).

I had a new replacement combi boiler installed December 2024 after my ancient Halstead finally gave up right in the middle of the cold snap. From start to finish the service provided was prompt, efficient and done in a neat and tidy manner, with all my questions answered in a friendly and helpful way. On the day itself the job was done with minimal upheaval and the two guys who did the work (Sorry, lads, have forgotten your names!) were extremely pleasant, once again answered all my questions patiently and left the place immaculate afterwards. Many thanks for making the whole experience as stress free as possible.

I had Alexander’s install a new boiler and a new radiator. It was a two day job as advised by them and they completed the work in the time they quoted. Excellent price for the work needed. My flat is now toasty warm. Boiler is excellent and the engineers were top rank. I’d definately hire them again and recommend them to anyone. Good guys.

Removal of ancient Baxi back boiler - replaced with Combi boiler and new radiators.

Jim, Scott, Ian and the rest of the team were excellent - worked well together - neat and tidy. Also on the first day I decided not to keep my old fashioned gas heater (changed my mind which they knew nothing about) - told Scott would like to purchase a new modern electric fire to be installed at a later date by A N Other. However, Scott said they would deal with this and lo and behold they picked me a beautious black electric fire with living flame (could not have chosen a better one myself - so pleased) AND Jim and his team mate installed it for me and showed me how to work the remote. Also Scott explained how the thermostat worked. I did not have a worry at all with James W Alexander. They even hoovered everywhere. Carpets were lifted etc - all put back - would not know that they had ever been lifted. I could go on and on. The firm is absolutely fantastic and I would strongly recommend them for any work needed. I am so happy that Jim and his team installed our kitchen. We had a quite tight turnaround plan and they ensured us they could take out the old kitchen and install the new one in 5 days. It sounded ambitious, but they managed it. Not only were they on time, the quality of the installation is superb. Additionally, they made suggestions for how to improve on the plan that the kitchen studio originally made that made a big difference to making our kitchen better. At times we had four people working simultaneously and having everything out of one hand (electrics, plumbing, etc) made this so much better an experience.

I'd recommend Jim and his team to anyone looking for kitchen installations (or the other work they are doing). Also, if you get a Magnet kitchen installed, don't arrange the work through Magnet, but contact Jim directly, I'd say. I am super happy that we got his team to work on our kitchen. So based on my experience: work with Jim, who is straight-forward, honest and really helpful. Thanks to him and his colleagues our kitchen turned out really well!

Had my boiler replaced by JW Alexander. They turned up when they said they would, were very polite and tidy. Very little disruption and very respectful of my property. Great service.

Jim and team fitted a Magnet kitchen for us in July. The team completed the job professionally, to a high standard and helped with additional works to complete the job. We would happily use Jim and team again for other work.

25 July 2024 Installation of anew radiator by plumber Ian, who did a great job. He appeared when we expected, wasted no time and quickly, efficiently and tidily got on with and finished the job to our complete satisfaction

A sudden major leak occurred in the mains water feed pipe to our kitchen sink at 10 o'clock on Monday evening causing quite a flood before I could turn off the water supply. I telephoned J.W. Alexander and left a message explaining what had happened and how we had dealt with it for the moment. Although their office was closed and not due to open until 9.00 next morning a plumber arrived at our house at 8.00 am, who identified that the problem was a perished pipe in the tap joint. A new tap and connection was installed there and then and all was well again. More than 5 star service, I would say.
We have dealt with J.W. Alexander over many years and have always had excellent service, and wouldn't think of using anyone else, particularly in an emergency, such as this was.

Mr Alexander arranged for a plumber to attend at short notice to investigate the cause of a substantial leak in the kitchen.
Scott identified the problem very quickly and carried out the repair efficiently.
A first class, professional and reliable service.

I had a completely new kitchen installed and needed workmen to do the job and was put in touch with James Alexander who was able to take charge of everything needed. from plumbing to electrical and joinery work.
I was given a time frame of how long the job would take and true to their word the job was done in the time stated and the quality of work was excellent, and I was kept fully informed of the work being completed. Really pleased with my boiler replacement in March. Very professional service and the work was carried out to a really high standard. Plumbing and electrics - fitting a new kitchen, upgrading hot water system and general work associated with rental properties. They are punctual, reliable, clear with quotes and above all else, a very high standard of workmanship. In carrying multi-trades it takes the pressure away as they can see to the whole job.
