J A Carlyle & Son installed my kitchen in July. They worked tirelessly throughout the week to ensure the process went as smoothly and stress freely as possible, keeping me in the loop about the fine details and showing professionalism and courtesy at all times. I trusted them entirely in my home and cannot fault a single thing they did. They arrived on time every day and left the area immaculately clean on leaving. They finished everything off perfectly and offered excellent advice throughout. Any extras I asked for were given without any hassle. I would 100% recommend their services and haven't a negative thing to say. Five stars from me.

James Carlyle tendered for the adaptation of my bathroom to a wetroom. From the first visit through to the snagging, all the workmen I encountered were efficient, courteous and adapted to any small changes that I requested on the way while remaining within the Occupational Therapist's guidelines for the adaptation. The building work was messy and I had to move out but the areas where they had worked were left spotlessly clean so that I had very little to do when I returned. The wet room is now a place where I feel safe and confident and fully meets my needs for now and for the future. I was not looking forward to the building work but James Carlyle explained what needed to be moved before the work commenced, did all the work on schedule, within budget and left my home clean and tidy. He took the time to explain the workings of each of the new appliances and I'd have no hesitation in recommending him for this type of comprehensive adaptation.

The thought of all the dust and inconvenience with removing tiled walls and flooring was a concerns to us ,how ever, we were soon put at ease and reassured by the care taken to ensure that any dust and was kept to a minimum,. hoovering our carpet after the dust sheets were removed each day.
James and his team have now finished installing our wet room, finished to his very high standards, which we are delighted with and have I no hesitation in recommending his Company to anyone in the Lothians looking to have similar work done.

James and his team are very knowledgeable and with a huge range of experience in their field. The refit all ran smoothly and to plan. His team are all very friendly and approachable. Best of all they cleaned and tidied up after themselves every day leaving no mess. They kept us updated all through the refit and advised us on the best position for the installation of not only the big items, but the smaller ones too (towel rails, mirrors, ventilation system etc). We will definitely use them again and highly recommend them as a professional trustworthy company. A first class service.

My bathroom floor needed to be replaced and J A Carlyle and Son were hired to take out the bath , sink and toilet so this could be done. They did a timely job , took on an extra piece of work , were very pleasant and left the bathroom very clean afterwards.

My boiler broke down and registered a fault. I phoned for assistance and talk through since it was a simple fault and I was apprehensive. I was guided and constantly reassured during the phone call but I was unable to fix so a visit was arranged for that evening. During the fault fix, everything was explained to me in detail until I understood. Reasons for the fault were explained and options to address given with timescales. Despite this being an additional visit at the end of a busy day, the engineer remained professional and courteous throughout and waited to ensure I was happy all was fixed. I was charged a very very reasonable amount for what was an emergency callout since I had no heating nor hot water. I am very happy with the service received and will have no qualms about using again and will happily recommend

Mr Carlyle was very professional, he met all dates and times he quoted to me, He kept our property very clean and tidy during the changing of a shower room into a wet room and completed the job on schedule. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

James Carlyle Snr and Jnr did a fantastic job creating a new bathroom for us in a tricky attic room, including installing a new conservation velux window and supplying a hot water feed. They also refitted a 1st floor shower room, which had been badly laid-out and installed by the previous owner of our house.

They were incredibly hard- working and organised everything very efficiently. A joiner, plasterer, electrician and tiler all appeared at exactly the right time and the whole job was completed in 5 days, which was far shorter a period than we'd imagined.

The team ripped out the 1970s bathroom and completely started again, coming up with good solutions to various problems with layout and plumbing. They also came up with a solution for the badly designed shower room and installed a cubicle shower, using wall panels, avoiding having to completely re-tile the entire room.

All the team were very easy to have around and cleaned up immaculately when they finished the job, which was completed for a very competitive price and to a very high standard.

We have no hesitation in recommending James Carlyle for any plumbing work or bathroom installation as we are delighted with their work.

Great job fitting a new kitchen sink, and a full bathroom makeover. New bath,sink, and shower added in the upstairs bathroom, and the employees on the job were very precise,immaculate, and proud of the work being carried out. Job was carried out within the expected time, and the guys said any problems or small leaks, just call us back, but everything was completed 100%, and no leaks whatsoever, Great job, strongly recommend for jobs in the East lothian area.

We have recently had J.A.Carlyle and Son strip out our old bathroom and fit a new one. We were extremely pleased with their punctuality and communication with regards to the work schedule. The work itself is done to a very good standard. After using the bathroom we found two small snagging issues which were dealt with promptly and at our convenience.
