I had my outside window sills painted by Charlie and I am very satisfied with the work which was completed efficiently, with no mess and all in one day. This job was a small one, but I have family members who have had indoor painting done by Charlie and his team and having seen the quality and attention to detail, I am very impressed. Communication was excellent from Jeanette who kept me updated on progress. I will certainly be calling on Charlie in the future for any painting jobs I may have and I highly recommend him.

I had my sitting-room repapered, and painted. The work was able to be carried out very quickly from approval of the quote in the timescale identified. I was able to order tester paint pots which were delivered to me. The decorators appeared on time and worked hard and meticulously. Everything was tidied up and all rubbish, materials and equipment taken away when the work was finished. I am very pleased with the end result and would use this company again.

We had four windows painted on the outside and some rotten wood replaced.
Even though this quote was more expensive than the others we received, we went with Hamill because Charlie's attention to detail was much better than the others when they came to look at the windows. He was very careful in thinking about how the work would be carried out, which is five floors up at the back, and he took time to check the condition of the wood, unlike the other ones we asked to quote.
We received a very professional service from Stephen and Kevin. They arrived every day on time. They covered everything in the room with plastic and dust sheets, and they did a really great job with replacing the wood and painting. We are very happy with the results. Highly recommended.

The manufacturer of our new wooden sash double-glazed windows recommended Hamill Decorating Services as being experienced painters of their particular window system. Having decided to double glaze a red sandstone building from the 1880s we were very keen to have a sympathetic high quality finish. Hamill Decorating provided exactly that. Arrangements were smooth and the painters were skilled, conscientious and considerate. I would have no hesitation recommending Hamill Decorating Services to anyone considering similar work.

Charlie from Hamill has painted a couple of rooms in our home and each time we have been really delighted with the results. It’s the first time I’ve hired someone to do any work, and I’m so glad I did. Jeanette was incredible helping to arrange and pick a colour despite me being clueless. The Isle of Skye paint they use was matched to a colour I chose after they arranged to have samples dropped to the door, there was barely any smell and the finish is perfect. Charlie worked quickly and cleanly and is friendly and warm as was Jeannette. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I have used these company three times in the last eighteen months. They were originally recommended by Ventrolla to paint the refurbished windows. I then used them to decorate the living room, then kitchen.
All the guys (Charlie, Damian and Gareth) were extremely helpful and professional. Arrived when the said they would arrive, did a great job and tidied up at the end of each day.
The administrative side (Jeanette) is very efficient too - keeping you informed about what is happening.

hammil's carried out this work about 5 years ago and it was so good that we asked them to come back 5 years later to do the work again.

New sash windows needed painted after installation. Hamill were highly recommended by the window company, specifically on the grounds of quality, and that they understood the manufacture of the windows and wouldn't clog internal brushes or any mechanisms with paint.

Charlie and team organised to strip, repaper and paint a bedroom. Even though the scheduling was disrupted by lockdown, we were kept in touch as plans changed. Once the painter could get in, the work was quick and of the highest quality. We'd thoroughly recommend Hamills.

We used Hamill to paint the exterior of the windows of a top floor flat. In the course of estimating, we discovered that repair work needed to be done which would require a scaffolding be erected to provide access to the outside. Hamill coordinated that and it made the repairs significantly easier. Kevin and Gareth, the painters, were courteous and professional and the work was finished on time.

We had the living room and family room decorated earlier in the year and they were both completed beautifully, on time and with the minimum of fuss. The next big task was upstairs bathroom, bedroom, landing, stairs and hall ! A logistical nightmare re moving furniture around that had kept us awake worrying for quite a while. We also both work at home which added to the complications. The boys were great ! Took it all in their stride and worked away cheerfully and steadily despite all the awkward to get to bits on the staircase. Thankyou very much to Sean and Gareth for being so patient. It looks lovely and we're very pleased with it. See you after Christmas for the final round !!

Hamill Decorating services were recommended to us another company who refurbished six very large sash and case windows in our apartment. I can quite see why. The product knowledge and procedures the painters used made sure all the work was worthwhile. The prep and paint finishes were very good. Choice of high quality materials and eco-friendly products noted. The tradesmen were skilled, respectful and considerate. So it was a good job, a good experience and a good outcome.

I needed to get a stairway, hall, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom done quickly before visitors arrived. Charlie Hamill gave helpful advice and Eva in the office arranged everything with no fuss. The decorators worked hard, completed it on time and did a great job. A very good experience.

Over the years we have had many painting jobs done by Hamill Decorators, and have invariably been very happy with their professionalism and skill, and the polite and friendly manner of the painters. We have recommended them to several friends without hesitation, and will use them again ourselves for any future decorating needs.

Hamill Decorating Services painted the new window sashes we had installed in our 1st and 2nd storey Edinburgh Colony Flat. Their painter Gareth who was professional, friendly and tidy, coped well with my high level of attention to detail. Without having to be asked all brass work was removed prior to painting and replaced carefully after the paint was dry and the windows checked for easy opening. The work was excellent and several winter months later still looks brand new with absolutely no problems becoming apparent. I will use them again and would highly recommend them.

We use Hamill Decorators for the majority of our external window painting in our properties throughout the city. They always keep us up to date on job schedule, invoice promptly and do a great job. We consider them to be the leading specialists in Edinburgh for window frame repairs and painting and they will often manage to complete work without scaffolding saving clients money.

Bathroom and small bedroom decorated. Impressed with bathroom remedial work to wallpaper as saved room being stripped. Bedroom badly in need of painting and thought the outcome was very nice. Good help given in choice of colours.

Our painter Gareth was friendly and polite. He was extremely tidy in the 5 days he was working in our property and the paintwork (which he completed a day earlier than estimated) was of a very high standard. We are delighted with the work carried out by Hamill Decorating Services.

Having been recently let down by an East Lothian Trusted Trader walking off a contracted job, I was wary about starting the selection process again. I need not have worried as Hamill Decorators provided a quote less than half the amount of the other quote. The work was started and satisfactorily completed over 2 days by 2 employees, Keiran and Gareth. They were punctual and nothing was too much trouble for them. In fact, my husband was so pleased, we will be having Hamill Decorators back to do lots more in our home. We will happily recommend this company to anyone looking on East Lothian Trusted Trader Site.

Hamill Decorators have worked on quite a few projects for me now (I am an Interior Designer) and every job has been finished to a very high spec. From the initial meeting of my client, providing a quote and following through with the work and completing all snagging, Hamills have never disappointed. They have a great team of decorators which includes experienced plasterers and tilers and the team are not only on time every day at the job but always friendly and a delight to have around. This is the second time I have used Hamill Decorating and on both occasions I have been delighted with the results.
The work was carried out speedily but efficiently without cutting corners. Not only is the work just what was required but all was left clean and tidy.

The Hamill Decorating team came to our house to prepare a quote, and discussing our options and how they would approach the work. Each person we interacted with was professional and helpful, and the quote was more realistic than most.
The work started on time, the painters doing the job were reliable, had our keys, and were always on schedule with the work, or even ahead of schedule. They were very flexible, too. For instance, they painted large colour bands on each wall so I could properly test the colours I had. And when I changed my mind on the colours for the main room, they made time to repaint it all. Yep. See picture of the work in progress.
I also liked their willingness to make sure everything was perfect.

From helping us choose paint type and colour, to discussing the schedule of work, right through to ensuring that there was not a spot of paint on the carpet, the whole team were friendly, helpful and professional.
