Over the course of three days, badly corroded Victorian cast iron gutters have been removed and taken away for disposal. Powder-coated aluminium replacements have been sensitively fitted to match profile of neighbours' gutters on either side of the property. Code 4 lead undercloak has been neatly installed to offer additional future protections to sandstone at the wall head. New timber backplate has been supplied and fitted to accommodate the described installation. Using lime mortar, expert repointing of missing/crumbling joints in stonework where saturation had caused damage has been carried out.

At all stages of this work, John has been a superb communicator, always making full effort to explain and demonstrate the processes. I've received regular updates via photographs and short films which all help to instil perfect confidence in standards of workmanship. I've contacted him outside working hours and he has never failed to answer enquiries, no matter the time of day. Couldn't have wished for better service.

A new drive has been built on sloping ground and the finish is first class. The builder really listened to what we wanted and offered a lot of ideas and suggestions on details and materials and kept us updated on progress which was very helpful. His attention to detail is excellent and is reflected in the quality of his work which was very reasonably priced. We are really pleased with the end result and highly recommend his work

Entire roof re-slated, including bay window and rear extension. New flashings and gutters.
Exceptional care, courtesy and consideration. The team worked through some atrocious weather without complaint. There was none of the usual shouting, swearing or loud radio which in my book is a big bonus!

Over a period of 10+ years John Gallagher (the face of James McGurnaghan) has carried out extensive repairs to my Victorian house - roof repairs, elimination of dry rot, etc etc, and I am extremely grateful for his support throughout this “project”. John, who is the main man at the company, has done all our roof work for the last 10 years which is a considerable amount as it is a Victorian era mid-terrace property and just needs attention. John knows the property and is always prompt in his responses to us and the quality of the work just couldn't be better. He has replaced and future-proofed much of our guttering anticipating the increased volume of rainfall, diagnosed and repaired curious/obscure leaks, dressed, repointed and in some cases sealed our chimney stacks and much else that I'm probably forgetting. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
