Work on my roof, new skylights and general repairs, pointing. It was very professional, I have a lot of confidence that the work was well done and appropriate. Friendly service.

Slates around skylight window were refitted. This stopped the leak we had in the back room. Very pleased with the quality of workmanship.

2 separate contracts - one to fix roof leak and one to replace lead flashing at chimney.
The jobs were carried out in an efficient and professional manner, just as you would expect them to be carried out. Good communications with head office during and post contract.

So far satisfied with service. They have given a year guarantee so I want to see their response in case the leak happens again.

Work requested was to remove a skylight from the roof, replace with tiles and to secure any loose tiles. The repairs were carried out when we were on holiday, ahead of time and with the minimum of mess. Thanks to all concerned.

We had a front elevation of our house re roughcast in white stone chips. After some 25 years of battering by the elements, it looked dirty and parts were boss, in other words just waiting to fall off. The rest of the house was fine.
We considered having the whole house painted, but first needed to have the boss part re roughcast. This turned out less costly than painting and shouldn't need done again for many years whereas painting is probably a 5 year cycle.
The surveyor who came to price the job was very helpful and knowledgeable. He also did a very good job of matching the stone chips with the other elevations.
We were given a projected start date, some months ahead and were kept updated regularly. Scaffolding was erected at lightning speed, the job done over three days and the scaffolding removed, shortly thereafter.
Removal of roughcast is a dirty job, but the debris was all tidied up.

The gutters and all external woodwork on our 1902 house were in need of repairs and painting.
I had had some difficulty in getting quotations from local companies, but when I contacted Shearers they sent someone promptly to assess the work needed. Their quotation was higher than I had expected but I was impressed by the thoroughness of their assessment and agreed for the work to proceed.
Although the timescale was considerably longer than originally stated, due to weather, supply issues and absenteeism due to Covid, the quality of the finished work was excellent.

As we have used the company before, Shearers visited at our request and showed us that various areas of our roof were needing attention. They provided picture evidence and a quotation before proceeding. The work was stripping out and re-pointing our ridge tiles, replacing 12 loose slates, cleaning the gutters, re-setting one of the gutters and securing a loose pvc facing with mastic sealant at one of our dormers. The work was completed to our satisfaction.

Roof repairs. Shearer’s were professional and timely in everything they did. They gave time scales and came when they said and were courteous throughout. Other roof companies did not respond to my call or did not submit an estimate. Shearer’s were easy to deal with and I have already asked them to do the long term maintenance on the roof. I have already recommended them to friends.

We needed a special Velux for a roof with low pitch. The window itself was expensive which is why it’s not necessarily value for money but it is what was required and what we wanted. As usual the whole job was done with professionalism, expertise and efficiency on the appointed date. We previously had our slate roof renewed by Shearer’s and have complete confidence in their full team and in the quality of their work.

The work was started and completed well within the time I asked. Everything seemed extremely well organised, no timewasting at all. The workers were always friendly and helpful,both with information and with several extra jobs I asked for. Finally everything was carefully cleared away.
I'd originally aimed to get it done more cheaply,but the results,and the whole experience,suggest you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend Shearers.
