Had to kick my door in so had the framework fixed and a new lock fitted and an old lock reinstated. Took couole of hours and the workmanship was first class and the products used not cheap but excellent quality. Highly recommend this service. Fast call out and went above and beyond to help quickly. I phoned Barrhead lock & door he came straight out and charged all my door locks and David was so nice.

We needed work on our Composite Door hinges as the set up was all wrong. The door was damaging the frame. We thought the hinges were broke and would need replaced. David came stripped, cleaned and reset the hinges. David gave us honest advice and carried out the work required. Once finished David cleaned the area and left everything clean and tidy. My wife and I are really pleased with the work carried out and door works like new again. Great job by David.

I contacted David to repair an ensuite double glazed window for my elderly mum. He came promptly in early April and did an initial repair which enabled the window to close again. He was very polite and helpful and said he would need to source a part to complete the repair. He didn't charge for the initial work but said he'd be back to fit it once he got it. After a couple of weeks I called him twice and left VMs but got no reply. Another week later and another VM, still no reply. I then sent a text saying I would like to know either way if he intended to come back - as we wanted him to complete the repair and of course to pay for the work done. To date, I still haven't had a reply. This is a shame, because he was so kind and helpful initially, but it's not fair to leave an elderly lady hanging with half a repair.

Fabulous service, would not hesitate to use again or recommend. Tilt and turn window would not close and not only was the problem resolved super quick but I got a little self help tutorial so I can troubleshoot for myself should the issue recur.

My front door would not open. I called and spoke to David and upon explaining the issue he knew what the fault was straight away. He arrived within 15 minutes of our phone call and sorted the issue in a timely manner. Fixed front door which wasn’t locking and provided advice on longer term issue of settlement and work that would be required by a joiner. We noticed our front door was becoming difficult to lock which we put down to the recent spell of warm weather & the UPVC door swelling a little.
Eventually we couldn't get the door closed or locked at all, after a couple of hours of trying everything we could, we decided we'd need to call someone out.

We called Barrhead Lock & Door, as it was the nearest 24 hour company; the call initially rang out, but David called us back a few minutes later.
After explaining the situation David said it sounded like the door needed realigned, he gave me a price & asked if we needed the job done immediately or could it wait until morning. It was late on a Sunday night but since we live across from a row of shops & it had been obvious to people passing that we were having trouble with the door, we asked David to come out immediately.

David arrived about 10 mins later, he was very pleasant, professional & had the job done in a few minutes, even looking at the back door before he left as we had a similar issue with that but not as bad.

We would definitely recommend David & Barrhead Lock & Door, for a timeous response & in our eyes good value for peace of mind & would use the company again for any lock/door issues.

Our front bedroom PVC window would not open. I contacted Barrhead Lock & Door Co early morning with my issue. I was contacted asap and the tradesman attended around 0930 for a no fee quote, the quote was based on a visual inspection as this is all that could be done. I was quoted for a faulty handle and a faulty mechanism I was happy for the tradesman to proceed.

Job was completed in less that 30 minutes

The tradesman took the time to point out tell-tale signs for the window possible going again and gave me information how to keep the parts maintained.

Before leaving I also had a faulty front door which the tradesman carried out a few adjustments on the hinges and giving more informing and how to adjust myself. (This was no extra charge nor would he take any extra payment)

David was great he came on time I was late rushing back but reassured me not to rush which was great he changed the locks which gave me

Phoned David on a Sunday to arrange a call out for the following week. This was to repair my front door and replace a kitchen window.
David said he was happy to come right away and secure my home.
He fixed the front door locking mechanism and boarded up the window. He then ordered a replacement window and was happy to leave payment until the job was 100% complete.
David returned with the replacement window at a time we discussed, finished the job and also tightened up the back door.
The price charged was much,much less than I expected and he left everything clean and tidy. A first class experience.
I would have no problem recommending this firm for all jobs concerning windows and doors.

Absolutely outstanding service! The bottom plate that holds the locking bolt in alignment had sheared on our door and was stopping the door from locking properly. David had assessed and fix the door within 15mins. I also had asked him to have a look at our front door as it was quite awkward to get it to lock, the door had dropped and David adjusted the hinges and lubricated all the moving parts and the door locks without any problem now. Both doors fixed at a great price too, I'd highly recommend David ,total gentleman and would definitely use him again

Having used Trusted Traders to find a locksmith and chosen Barrhead lock and door Company due to the reviews left I would totally endorse all that has been said about David. Professional, efficient, trustworthy, and extremely knowledgeable. We had an issue with our locking mechanism on our conservatory door which David knew exactly the problem and fixed it with a new part there and then. He gave us advice re our patio doors which actually opened when we tried them! (Had not opened since the summer).We have also ordered a new front door lock which will be fitted this week at a reasonable cost. We cannot recommend David highly enough. Very impressed

Then yesterday, a fault developed with the key (s),caused by our ignorance.

One phone call later, we had a next day service at a really fair price for a problem that has been driving us crazy since another contractor fitted the doors initially. We were having trouble with our patio door in our new home and after seeing a recommendation on Facebook I sent a message. David responded immediately and was able to come over the next day for a free quote . There were two problems with the door one which could have waited to be fixed, there was absolutely no pressure to get both problems fixed, we did go ahead with the work which was fixed within an hour. New lock required for patio door as key lost, very helpful first contact by telephone with explanation of cost and how job would be undertaken, this is particularly important during the current Covid 19 circumstances. Locksmith arrived at appointed time, professional and courteous manner, and observed all protocols with regard to Covid requirements , reassuring as myself and wife are vulnerable older adults. New lock replaced quickly and efficiently with no mess. Locksmith ensured we understood working of new lock, and on departing noticed our front door lock needed adjustment, this was done at no extra charge . I can recommend this company highly.
