Ian is a gent. Our son was gifted a hot tub from the Make-a-Wish Foundation which grants wishes to children facing critical illness. When Ian heard, he very kindly offered to do all the electrical work for cost. Ian didn’t need to do this and his extremely kind and generous offer was very much appreciated. You don’t get many people giving up their time for others like this. Ian came when he said he would, did all the work to a very high standard and got on well with our two nosey kids. Ian also talked to Grizzly Bear Hot Tubs about the work he was doing for our son and they very kindly donated several meters of cable. Again, this is something they didn’t need to do and we are extremely grateful to them also. The work Ian has done for us, while refusing to take anything for his time, is going to make a huge difference to our son’s quality of life. I have no hesitation in recommending Ian 100% and have no doubt who I will call for any future electrical work. Thank you very much Ian, your kindness has made a big difference to our wee boy.

I had an electrical emergency in the evening. I thought there had been a fire behind an electrical socket. I phoned Ian and he came out within half an hour, from Carnoustie to Dundee. It turned out to be a minor problem and was fixed quickly. Ian did not charge me a call out charge and was very pleasant and put me at ease.
I would highly recommend him. I have now saved his number for any future electrical work for myself and friends and family.

Complicated fuse box problems.Ian was very thorough in finding the cause,turning out everytime very promptly from December to March.Excellent service and extremely reasonable charge.

An intermittently working electrically powered reclining armchair was not a commonly encountered problem but Mr Johnstone promptly responded to our call, diagnosed the cause, obtained and fitted the necessary spare part, charged a very modest fee, and we were back up and running in 3 days. Highly recommended

The week of Christmas and our oven went off due to a faulty main switch. We phoned Ian in the morning and despite being really busy he still came out to see us and was able to quickly replace the switch. He effectively, saved our Christmas! Exceptional value for money and I would not hesitate to use his company again and will be recommending him to my friends and family. An honest, reliable and local tradesman- a rare gem that can be quite hard to find nowadays!

Ian has carried out a lot of work for me over the years - fitting ceiling fans, sockets, security lights, decking lights, an outdoor power socket, wall mounted tv, loft lights and more. He is always competitively prices, turns up when he says he will and tidies as he goes. Ian is friendly and has never given me bad advice. No job is too big or too small. Will definitely use him again and highly recommend him.

My job was small, a cookerhood not working, but he came the next day and the problem was located and dealt with in a flash !!! ( ha ha) It's rare today to find a tradesman as reliable. Will always use Ian from now on and will recommend to friends and family.
